Casa Borrega is amazing! We already can’t wait to return. Great food and great drinks with a very cool atmosphere and a wonderful family behind it. Being there really is an experience, not just a meal. Highly recommend!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in New Orleans, with a new menu more focused on tacos and mezcal based drinks. I used to live in the area, and now live in Thailand, and this id on my list of places to go when I go back for a visit! Gracias!

Hugo is a great host and barman with vast knowledge and selection of mezcal among other traditional and modern drinks. The food is amazing too. The taco tortillas are freshly made and the ingredients and taste superb. The only bad thing is that it is not in my hometown but will certainly be back when in N.O. Highly recommended.

Ill keep this short. We arrived and the owner came over to our table to tell us there were 2 reservations ahead of us who had ordered so there would be a long wait (about 30 minutes). The way he did this though was very rude and it felt like he wanted us to leave. Very bad vibes. “You can stay if you want. You look like a group of people who dont mind talking to each other and can fill time. If you cant wait then you can also leave. However you want”. All 5 of us decided to wait. We had one extra chair because they pushed tables together for us. The manager comes over and makes our friend get up from the table and push a chair to the end of the other two tables. They then take the empty table and put it to the side and it never gets used. Again the way he asked our friend to do this was really weird and with annoyed undertones like he was mad we decided to stay.

Best marg in the city- by far! Awesome vibe here too, very friendly staff and a great experience. Cute patio and awesome decorations. I am picky about margaritas but I am telling you.. they are perfect, not too sour & made with high quality tequila. The owner is an absolute GEM, don’t miss this place!

Sadly this was a terrible experience tonight. I had been here once before the pandemic and while the space was lovely the food was so below expectations as to be embarrassing. Our service and margaritas were fantastic but our chips arrived shockingly stale and the meat in our tacos was cold and dry to the point of being inedible. Our table of 4 was so disappointed in it all we could barely speak throughout our meal. For Friday night at dinner time with only a handful of patrons this is just unacceptable. While I feel for this space and their neighborhood, in good conscience I could not return any time soon and hope they make the necessary adjustments before it’s too late.

Spent $125 on cold food that makes me concerned for my health. Could have done better at a taco truck.

Absolutely love this place! This is a true authentic Mexican restaurant and Mexican owned, not to mention the largest and best selection of tequila in all of New Orleans! My mouth still waters every time I think about the Casa Dragones, damn was it delicious! Tried every single one of the tacos and they were all amazing! If this place was local to me I would be visiting weekly. The owner and staff here are super friendly and very generous. If you’re in Nola, this place is a must!

Love this spot. This part of town is an up and coming artsy neighborhood. We had the pleasure of going for a right before lunch rush time on a weekday. The owner was behind the bar and took care of us in a great way. Wow, is he quite the artist! His artwork and his design elements in the space is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. Quite a treasure for New Orleans. They do different specials every day and we came on a different day than the special I wanted, but they made me the one I wanted anyway, even though it wasn’t the day. What great service and great hosts. I loved my meal, I loved the atmosphere, and I love the hosts and everything about this restaurant, would highly recommend as the best food for South of the border in New Orleans!
