The PUPUSAS were Delicious… but the restaurant did NOT meet the Request for 6 Well toasted(VIEN DORADAS) Pupusas. We provided the restaurant with a advanced order of 30 minutes. We had to wait another 20 minutes upon arrival. The Food Order was 6 PUPUSAS well toasted. I will make the same orde at AMERICAN HOUSE to see if they can Satisfy a Customer .

I have no words to describe how good this restaurant is! They take long to get your food but it’s worth it.

This small restaurant is in a strip mall that has restaurants, stores, and businesses in several different ethnicities. Often stop in one of the restaurants for lunch after our midday walk along the bayside.

It’s the best Salvadorian restaurant. I’m jealous that I don’t live closer to eat all the yummy food. As a Salvadorean, you can’t go wrong with any option. Eventually, you will find the beat dish for you and come back for more, no doubt. The menu is based on pictures, which more restaurants should do. The service displays the hospitality of the nation. I look forward for more people to enjoy this place as I no longer live within meal distance.

I’ve been here 2-3 times in the past and this place by far has the most delicious pupusas in San Mateo. Most places skimp on the filling, not these guys, the filling just oozes out begging to be enjoyed

“I use to come very often to marias before COVID-19, I moved due to my employment. I recently got transferred back to San Mateo. First thing first I’m very glad their open the dark handsome gentleman was very kind, and lovely. I decided to go back again for lunch the next day, I waited in line once it was my turn the Lady went straight into the kitchen and never came out. I had to leave since my lunch was about to be over. But thats ok since it seemed to be busy. I went in a 2nd time and it was the same waiter went into the kitchen and never came out. I didn’t think anything of it until when me and a co worker showed up and the same lady ignored us and went into the kitchen once she noticed that we got up from the table. Everyone got their ordered taken but us. After leaving we proceeded to watch across the street and lady was in the front on her phone with no care. Our company is having an anniversary and I was really looking forward to having Marias cater.(The only reason why I’m writing this review is because my coworker said he had the same experience with the same waiter the gentleman was kind and lovely but the lady wasn’t. This all happened around 1 month ago.)

Great service. Delicious Horchatas. The pupusas where tasty but one of my pet peeves when it comes to pupusas is that the filling should almost be spewing out. There was too much dough on the edges. The empanadas where on point.

Service is kind of slow but the food is good. Not the best, but it’s good. I would recommend.
