When it comes down to flavor El Primo Restaurant in Passaic has it. The food is authentic and it tastes as if it was cooked in your house. On Sundays they have mondongo which is a soup made from diced tripe slow-cooked with other ingredients, I must try if you have try it else where. Only street parking available and limited.

I ordered a 40 dollar picadera tray last Sunday. The taste was horrible chicken tasted old. And for 40 dollars the tray was so small! I’ve ordered this same tray from Mary’s restaurant and it’s much better and 3 times the size from primos restaurant!

The food is ok. Actually a bit disappointed based on the reviews. Not sure how authentic Dominican cooks can get a Moro wrong and the fried sweet plantains were dry. The only reason I’m giving a three stars is because the lady taking the order was very nice.

Best place in new jersey for authentic Dominican food… Love the atmosphere as well. Makes me feel as if I’m in the DR. Totally recommend this restaurant.

The food is authentic Dominican, the service is great and friendly… The menu is broad… And the specials are delightful… The coconut fish is their signiture dish… It’s amazing… A must try… I go there often to dine or take out

If you’re looking for a typical Dominican cuisine then this is your spot. If you’re looking for some fine dining this isn’t the spot. The food is good here this is a nice little hidden gem that isn’t busy.
