Just wanted to take a moment to thank the entire staff over at The Smoke Pit for the absolutely awesome warm welcome and hospitality! We were travelling from Montreal, Canada to Charlotte and had a few places we wanted to visit including The Smoke Pit. We arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday (our mistake, as we thought it was open on Sunday and when we found out it wasn’t, we rushed over as fast as possible!) and was hoping to sample a bunch of their food. We got a chance to speak to and meet some great people and the most friendly staff!! We were dying to try the brisket and by the time we arrived, it was unfortunately already sold out, but the staff made up for it by letting us try a few other things that were excellent! We got a sampling of almost all their meats and sides and wasn’t disappointed in any of them; they were all excellent! My daughter went nuts for the mac and cheese haha!! To our surprise, as we were eating, the kind lady who helped us with our order brought over a few pieces of brisket that were “hidden away”, must have been a few pieces left when they called sold out! That was the cherry on the cake and it just melted in your mouth! So grateful for this!

Clean, friendly place with great piped in music from the 70s and 80s. Really really good BBQ; competing for the best I’ve had. Regular portions are plenty and served on big trays. Constant line of people dining in and taking out.

Don’t walk or run for great BBQ! So many choices! This evening my husband had a brisket sandwich and a side of potato salad! So much brisket it will be great for leftovers for tomorrow! I ordered the 4 ribs and 2 sides with cornbread! So much food and all so good! I normally ordered the banana pudding, switched it up tonight and ordered the apple crisp with ice cream! Shut the front door it was so good!

This place is brilliant! Amazing food with great portions and super friendly staff! I went on a Wednesday which was busy because of their Wednesday Deal but it was worth the 10/15min wait in line to order. I went with family friends visiting from England and they were so impressed by how kind the staff was and how much food we got! The Baked Mac n Cheese was so good and- while it may look like an average portion- it alone could fill you up! I will definitely come back 🙂

I stopped here for dinner with my husband on a Wed night after an event at Charlotte Speedway upon the recommendation of a local, and this place did not disappoint. Food was excellent and affordable and service was excellent and very fast. The decor and vibe inside was okay, but wasn’t anything special. Could use some slight improvement in that area, but was totally fine for a fast casual restaurant.

Great Great local flavorful BBQ! You know it’s gonna be good when the smell hits you right out of the car. There may be a bit of wait but it goes fast and is worth it. Great fun service staff that was friendly and fast. The meat was awesome. Fantastic brisket cooked just right. Wonderfully spiced burnt ends and some righteous pulled pork. Things were on the pricey side but what isn’t anymore. The sides we had were great. Hashbrown casserole and Mac n cheese were homemade and legit. The fries reminded me of one’s you get at a beachside seafood place…. but yum lol. I would suggest, recommend, and return here myself for some great food. Eat well!

My husband and I chose The Smoke Pit for our anniversary. Quick trip from Greensboro to Concord. Emily the cashier was very pleasant and down to earth! ✅ We ordered the 3 meat combo. Smoked Turkey, brisket and ribs. There was an up charge on the brisket and ribs. It didn’t matter it was well worth it. For sides we had the smoked baked beans, Devil egg potato salad, baked Mac n cheese & CORNBREAD. We also ordered the 3 wings with the dragon sauce. The sauces on the tables are Devine but the dragon sauce on the wings is delectable. Because I like tasting almost everything when we go out to eat (the fat girl in me shows up and out) . We ordered the jalapeño cream corn, yum yum (it is), chocolate mousse, crisp, banana pudding and peach cobbler. That is all. The food is Devine and no we didn’t eat all of this we had to drive back home. We will recommend this place and will be back in ✌ weeks for my birthday dinner. The food was hot, fresh and Smokey but a good Smokey. Not over powering Smokey. Oh and I ordered some carmelized ’s because I am the onion queen.

We happened upon this place while visiting the area, and we are so glad that we did!!! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, but we wanted to try a bit of everything. The hubby had the pick 3 plate with pulled pork, wet ribs, and fatty brisket w/ collards and coleslaw as his sides and toast. I too got the pick 3 with burnt ends (yummy), wet ribs, and fatty brisket w/ Mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole as sides and cornbread. We also did 3 additional sides: jalapeño creamed corn, bbq baked beans, and fried okra—all delicious! My picky 6-year-old practically ate all of the okra. We didn’t know this, but we ended up going on a Tuesday when kids eat free. Our kids ordered the grilled cheese kids meals with fries. We also bought a gallon of sweet tea. We were set for a couple of days. Lol Everything was fantastic and the portion sizes were huge. Our kids loved everything that they tried off of our plates as well—that says a lot because they can be quite picky. The pickles were a hit. We also had dessert for later: banana pudding, chocolate mousse, and strawberry yum yum. They were all delicious, too! The staff was friendly and nice. Ms. Beverly is one of the sweetest people we’ve ever met…the kids still talk about how nice she was!!!!
