A perfect spot for a Virginia Shore family meal. We stumbled upon it (thank you Google maps) and took the side road to get to this “locals only” , with local dishes: the crab cake was TO DIE FOR- a nice add-on to any entrée. Friendly service. Across from a historic railroad museum that will delight those who love “choo-choos” (my grandbaby, Flossie 😉

First time eating here. My sister and brother-in-law brought me here and it was definitely worth it. Food was delicious. People were very friendly. Would definitely come back again!!

If you want a true throw back experience to having a great meal at a friend’s house in the 1970s, look no further. This family will welcome you with open arms and feed you the best comfort food straight out of the pages of the long defunct Country Kitchen Magazine. The stuffed pork chops with gravy will make you cry. They are only open for 2 dinners a week now and the long lines waiting on the front porch with the family cat, Pumpkin, are a clear sign that the food inside is worth the wait. Reservations are wise…

Food is excellent. Old town neighborhood. If you blink you will miss the town. Very old building falling apart, loaded with antique items for sale. Dining area old style oak tables & chairs.

Don’t bother unless you make reservations…. really. We looked at website, Facebook and menu sites and nowhere did it say you have to make a reservation. So we drove over from out of town and arrived at 5 pm. We were told we could not be seated until 7:30 pm because we didn’t have reservations. Well they close at 8 so even if we were willing to wait 2.5 hrs we would have been rushed in and out I’m sure. My better half had been there multiple times over the years and never needed a reservation. But we will not go back. Such a shame they can’t update information to say that reservations are required. I’m sure we were not the first could couple to be turned away. The hostess said they don’t put that info online but that’s the way its always been on “date night”. How am I supposed to know that, I’m not local… but was willing to travel for what was supposedly a good home cooked meal. Oh well, took our money elsewhere.

Great little Mom & Pop (literally) restaurant off the beaten path in Newark MD. Cozy atmosphere with daily specials and a menu that changes daily. Check Facebook for menu offerings. Desserts are home made and delicious. Stuffed pork chops and beef or chicken and dumplings are my favorites. Fried chicken is also very good. Sides such as corn pudding, Mac and cheese, cucumbers and onions, fries, sweet potato, collard greens etc.
