Great place for bbq chicken. We had the bbq chicken with rice and vermicelli as well as the bbq bahn mi sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly and really tasty. Also ordered the crab fried rice which was good but not exceptional like the chicken. Portions were on the bigger side.

I’m so exited there is a new pho restaurant at the shopping center in Palo Alto at Middlefield and Charleston. The ambience is great. The decor is modern and earthy. Service was very quick. The chicken pho broth is excellent. I liked that the free-range chicken breast meat is sliced very thinly. I was hoping there would be red bean drink on the menu but alas, no. So few Vietnamese restaurant serve this beverage.

Simply delicious. A friend of mine told me about this place and I couldn’t wait to try it. Went by Friday on the way home from said friend. Grabbed a #3 banh mi (bbq pork), took it home and after the first bite, I knew two things, it’s delicious, and I’d better save the other half for my wife. We both agreed it’s definitely one of the best sandwiches around. So good in fact that I went back just now for two more. #3 and a #5 this time. We really can’t wait to eat in and try more of the menu. I was sad when Rojoz closed, but now I don’t care. This is better!

The pho was excellent. The spring rolls looked great but were not tasty. The portions were so large that we had to take some food home.

Seeing a Vietnamese restaurant with such high number of stars piqued our interest. I think it is worth it. Being vegetarian I had the veg banh mi and it was one of the best I’ve had, the bread appeared fresh baked so it isn’t hard and scratch my mouth like many I have had before, and yet it is still very crunchy but not flaky. It’s near perfect. My wife had the clay pot rice and it was very flavorful. My daughter has the salmon rice and it was very nicely grilled with a slight crunchy outside. It could have been cooked less to retain more moisture tho. The menu is slightly more expensive then your usual vietnamese joint but given the location and decor you get what you paid for. We’ll be back to try other items!

Recently opened and happy to have a Vietnamese restaurant with very good food close by. Was our first visit and won’t be the last. I had the wild salmon vermilion salad. I was surprised at the size of the filet. At least 8 oz., very fresh and was grilled with a slight crunch on the outside but tender and moist inside. Typical for this dish it was placed on a pile of cold vermicelli alongside lettuce, carrots, cucumber and crushed peanuts with a cup of dressing made from fish sauce, seasoned rice vinegar and whatever else mixed in. It was very good. The salmon was unseasoned and it needed a bit of salt to bring out the flavor. My wife had the seafood pho with Chilean sea bass, shrimp and squid. She really enjoyed it and like my salmon, the filet of bass was a good sized portion. The broth was excellent. We’ll be back soon to try the ban mi for lunch. Service was good though my order came out nearly 15 minutes after my wife got hers. I’m sure the kitchen isn’t quite in synch yet as I noticed the table next to us experienced the same thing. I’m sure they’ll figure it out. Looking forward to trying the bahn mi sandwiches for lunch. They looked really good. This place should be around for a long time. Wish them the best.

I’ve been there three times, twice to get bahn mi (takeout), and once for pho (dine in). The food is great and the staff is very friendly. The interior is spacious and pleasant, nicer than the typical place of this kind. I’m very happy to have this place in midtown Palo Alto, and plan to visit often. A few notes if you visit: (1) they are closed on Wednesdays (2) ask for extra pickled veggies in the bahn mi (3) the spicy broth option on the pho is very spicy –think twice before choosing that!
