We dined at the bar with no reservations on a Saturday night. It was a lovely experience. We plan to return to dine in the dining room. It’s a great special occasion restaurant. Total for 2 (we split the prix fixe menu but added a few items from the bar menu) including drinks and one glass of wine was a little over $200.

Expensive but definitely high-quality. It’s a set price for a three course meal, and you still get lots of choice for each of the three courses. Definitely make a reservation in advance and come hungry! One of the only restaurants in the Bay Area that feels old-school fancy. Would recommend for a special occasion, they really know how to celebrate an anniversary!

Selby’s offers no-frills fine American-ish fare. Enjoyed the meal, every dish was carefully prepared. Service was great: staff was attentive/friendly, and readily accommodated our dietary restrictions. A few downsides: we ordered mocktails and they were not good at all. Some portions were on the smaller side. Tuna tartare (while very fresh) completely lacked flavor.
