Meritage is simply one of our top 3 favourite restaurants and/or Bars in the world. Having been fortunate enough to eat and drink at many lovely places in many countries, we just always compare them to Meritage in St Paul. Food is exquisite and the cocktails are spectacular. Thank you John, Alex and Justin for all of your cocktail advice. (our other favourite places would be the American Bar at the Savoy in London and The Buddha bar in Paris). Meritage holds such wonderful memories for us. My wife proposed to me there, we have taken our children, we ate there the night my wife went to hospital to have our baby and we drank Champagne with everyone else at the bar to celebrate. We have eaten there with many groups of friends and made friends there, we’ve eaten in the bar, in the dining room and outside. It’s all wonderful. Meritage is one of those places that does everything right.

Went out for Valentine’s Day. We sat in the back Medoc Room (party room) because we added another person to our reservation and couldn’t do the dining room area anymore. Our reservation was pushed up to 4 pm instead of 6 pm which was fine. This worked out great because we felt like we had the room mostly to ourselves for 2 hours. We tried the oysters and mussels which was wonderful. We also ordered the Chef’s 5 course dinner for the rest of the evening. The courses were small and we were slightly disappointed. I think we paid for the service more than the food. Service was phenomenal. Total cost: $540, we tipped $60 = $600.

Went to dinner to reconnect with close friends (6 of us) and stayed all night, eating oysters, mussels, steak tartare; we tried nearly everything on the menu and it was all beautiful. The wines our excellent server, Tyler, recommended were so good we ordered 3. I couldn’t think of a better atmosphere (lively, friendly, fun) to have such a lovely event and to be so well taken care of. We love Meritage and recommend it to all our friends, family and colleagues.

We absolutely adore this place. Great service (just tell them if you’re looking for a more intimate experience because people are at your table often). Always get the oysters! We got the beef tartare with home made chips and it was so good. In the winter sometimes they have a lobster bisque and it’s a MUST!

If you are looking for a place to go all out to celebrate, for a special date night, or simply just because, Meritage is the way to go. The service was impeccable – the servers were very attentive to our needs & even switching out the ice in our seafood platter – and the food is simply beyond. Wow, I must say that I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant! The cuisine was of the highest quality and was made with such creativity that it was a true masterpiece. Every dish was masterfully crafted and presented beautifully. I would like to humbly thank the owners for providing such a special experience. It’s clear that they take great pride in their restaurant and their food, and it definitely shows. Additionally, the staff were wonderful and attentive, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. We went to Meritage for before a concert at the Palace Theatre. The restaurant we originally planned to go to was closed, and staff were able to seat us at the bar even though it was VERY busy. Get a reservation!
