2 for breakfast. It is home cooking. 1 order french toast, was barely warm, could have cooked a bit longer, 2 scrambled eggs, should have been whisked more to fully mix and bacon, tasty. 1 order pancakes, large plate size hot and good. 1 sausage and cheese omlet good size and tasted good. Hash browns could have cooked longer. Clean inside. Bathrooms clean. Waitress was friendly. Wasn’t very busy so would think my plate could have been hotter.

Down home cooking. Best fried chicken I ever had. Turnip and collard greens were just the best. The friendly service is worth the drive. Out of the way places are so much better than the chains.

I have had wonderful experiences here over the years. In early April 2023, I was able to visit Duplin after about 4 years. I told my family I wanted to take them to Blands for a good home-cooked meal. We arrived I think about 10:30 AM on a weekday. It appeared food was being put out and prepared for the warming stations. A woman came out to prep the tea. After 10 minutes of no one acknowledging our existence we left. Later we realized that it was transition time from breakfast to lunch. Why not just say that and we can feed you at 11? We had a good meal at Wafflehouse instead. My feelings were really hurt that no one bothered to greet us or say a mumbling word as I wanted to support local business and have a bit of nostalgia.

Our first trip to bland’s BBQ, the sign on the building doesn’t even say they have barbecue but I believe everyone within a hundred miles KNOWS they have anyway! The plan was to get a couple of sandwiches and ride, but due to the size of the sandwich that wasn’t going to happen. Excellent seasoning more than generous portion definitely I must stop next time through Warsaw

Hole in wall place with good home cooked meals. Wish I could have sampled the fried chicken and fried pork chops they looked delicious. I had to try the BBQ pork they fix on-site. BBQ sandwich only $3.50, what a deal and it was pretty good. Not in my top 5 but would definitely stop by again if passing this way.

Flavor was bland and pork chop was dry, $9 lunch buffet not worthy. Staff more worried about smoking cigarettes than cleaning the 4 tables that were covered in dirty dishes when I arrived and still there when I left. Not a do over for me.

Food was mediocre. I would not return, especially with so many amazing BBQ places. This place got great reviews but we really didn’t like the food. Fried food was super greasy and the rest had no flavor. I do not recommend.

The name may be bland, but the food is anything but! Swung by on a quick trip from Raleigh to Jacksonville and was not disappointed in the quality of the food. I had a BBQ sandwich with Fries and Okra. All were superb and I would certainly come back again. When you see a place that’s cash only it usually is a sign of a great things to come and this was no exception.

The tea is sweet and the people are sweeter! Loved the barbecue sandwich. Certainly is a hidden gem
