If you check out my profile, I’m partial to Soul Food. Primarily because it’s often heavily processed and cost cutting measures are taken. Which takes the Soul from soul food. Therefore, some food tastes artificial and/or high is salt. Now, let’s begin.

We went on Father’s Day and was served and completed eating in less than an hour with a party of 6! The food came out hot and delicious! It was hard to choose because everything looked good and everything was good! This is a black owned and operated business that does business well. Officially added to best food spots and we will definitely return when in the area.

My boyfriend and I come from down South, and find it hard to find soul food in the city we live in (not Indy).. we stumbled across this place and let me tell youuuuuu: it was SOOOOO good! The chicken was juicy and crispy, candied yams were perfect, everything exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back any time I’m in Indy!

I was taking my cdl test and asked my tester where the best place to eat was, and he suggested His Place. And so thankful he did! Wow! The food was awesome! My husband even said, “I didn’t know we could get food this good like this this far north.” It was wonderful. The breading on his smoother porkchop was so flavorful and crispy when with the gravy on top. My brisket grilled cheese was amazing, too. And the catfish was some of the best catfish we’d ever had. The service was friendly and kind, and they walked us through the whole menu since it was our first time there. Definitely will be back! My only regret was not getting the bread pudding to go!

Great BBQ, smoked meat, fried chicken, etc place. I had the fried bologna sandwich, which is called “The Experience” on the recommendation of the waitress. It was wonderful and I did NOT expect to like it. I like trying new things and this time it paid off. I’ll order that again. The bologna isn’t what I expected or any sort of Oscar Meyer bologna – it was delicious, thick, and tasted great. My wife had the turkey Manhattan and liked it, but not as much as I liked mine. We will be back. Great personal service and recommendations from our waitress. A fun place to go when you don’t want the typical chain junk.

I wanted to like the food but I didn’t. I had a three little bear’s experience. The collards were luke warm, macaroni and cheese was warm, and the perch was piping hot. The collards with smoke turkey were too salty and there were more stems than collards. The macaroni and cheese was uneventful.
