I have only ate food from the Mandarin less than five times in the last seven years. I actually kind of forgot about it, as I rarely see any advertisement for this establishment. The location is spot on. It’s located across from a market/gas station, and next to a building with a clinic and job center. It’s most definitely easy to find. I was able to access and park in the back side of the building which was nice. On cold and windy days it’s miserable walking down Main Street to enter through the front door.

We were visiting the area (Chetek) and wanted something other than bar food for dinner, so we drove to this place. The host/waitress was very friendly and gave us some recommendations. What she suggested was very good. If you want something authentic order the Ma Po Tofu and tell them to make it authentic! It was fabulous! Nice and Spicy, just how we like it. we also tried Sesame Chicken, which was perfect! not drowning in a sauce. If we lived in the area, we’d come back to this place!

The lady was very rude. That aside, I could have ignored the bad service if the food didn’t taste like it was straight out of a can and way over cooked. Like needed a knife to cut up a shrimp. The people giving this place a good review, need to get out of Rice Lake more.

So glad this place re-opened a few years ago, definitely one of our favorite too-lazy-to-cook orders. It’s nice to sit down and relax and not do any dishes either, but can’t beat the “Order ready in about 10 minutes!” It’s always ready by the time you get there, you almost need to order while driving there! Way better than fast food, and just as fast!

Fantastic food! Prices are a little steep but worth it! Not a place to go if you like variety, bill can add up quickly of youre not careful. But we have gone here so many times and love it! Service is great

Friendly server. Vegetables were very fresh and cooked just right. General Tso was a little different. The chicken pieces were larger than other places and the breading was thinner. But I actually liked it better. The chicken was still very tender and the crust was crispy. Would definitely go again.

Quick service and minimal wait time from ordering to getting food. Large menu to choose from, which includes vegetarian options. Food was hot and delicious! I am a picky eater, and had no difficulty finding several dishes to try. Mandarin has become one of my favorite places to eat in Rice Lake.
