I have been going to Country Maid for 30 years. The lunch meat is fresh sliced and always fresh. The subs are great and custom made. Everyone that works at Country Maid are kind and very helpful. One of the best deli’s in New Castle County!!!

Faygo is decently hard to find outside of Michigan but this tiny deli in Newark, Delaware had so many flavors to choose from!! (My aunt and I recommend the cotton candy and cola) But not only is it a deli but it has so many snacks!

The staff are always a pleasure to talk to when ordering food. If you don’t see it on shelf ask they may have it in the back. Great lil store to grab a few things for the road. Stop in an d try their sandwiches from the deli.

Not sure why the old lady working here is so nasty. I was pleasant on the phone, asked to have my order read back to me and she was fairly rude and grouchy but I figured she understood. So when I get the exact thing I didn’t ask for, call back pleasantly to inquire, she’s even worse. Listen if you can’t make a sammich, don’t want to make sammiches or serve pleasant people pleasantly, you shouldn’t ya miserab. You lost lots of business today.

When. A person orders a turkey supreme with no mayo, you ut double, you read the order back yo me on the phone, no store credit unless i bring it back, i cannot because i am busy keeping your. Drive home safe. So no credit. Also seek some help for the old cranky lady you work with, she needs professional help. There is no humanly way a person can be that cantakerous and nasty. Will never come here ever again . Wish i could give zero because tha one employee sent this all the way down to that level.

UPDATE: I am completely shocked at the subs that we received today. I have been going to this country maid for cold cuts, cheese and subs since I was a teenager. The subs we got today were totally not what we ordered. I received onions and provolone cheese which I did not ask for and there was next to no meats on the sub. The 2nd sub we asked for no pickles or peppers and they put hot peppers on it. He asked for mayo and oil, and there was no mayo. He watched her write it down and she still made the subs wrong! ♀️
