Very respectable sushi place in a gorgeous setting! Their sashimi was super fresh and quite diverse, quality as good or better than we’d get at good places in the San Francisco Bay Area. The preparation was also just as we’d expect, very well done. We ordered the largest sushi boat for our table and it was quite a hit. Definitely recommend this place for both the food and the dockside setting.

Got there about 6:15 on Saturday eve. Hostess asked if we had reservations. We didn’t. They had room but by 6:30 place was full. Get reservations. Waiter was great. Very attentive but not too much. We shared 3 rolls. Was plenty. The volcano is a must have. Thought prices were reasonable. Most rolls came as 6 pieces. They are cut bigger than what I considered normal. Thought it was a good value. Best thing about this place is the setting. What a fantastic view. Would come here again.

I must admit that we were a bit hesitant to try Ocean Star because of the negative reviews. I must say, I’m glad we ignored them and went. The food was terrific, and the service excellent. I suppose every restaurant has an off day here or there. But I’m glad we ignored the haters. The Sashimi Platter was to die for by the way.
