Really good southern style food. The boneless wings are nice and crunchy and the bbq sauce is very good. The collard greens were meaty and so savory and good. Definitely a pleasant surprise of a place and I would go back for more.

Had my first take out the other night. My half rack ribs were great and it was a huge half rack. Sides, depending on what you get (not many choices), were so so. My husband’s plate of fried fish (forgot the type) was excellent, but tiny for the price as were his sides.

Slap yo mama good food! I stopped here cause of a review on YouTube by Daym Drops. The catfish is perfect! The sides (potato salad, collards, and Mac n cheese hit! Definitely coming back again! Lots of great food for a good price!

I’m live in Virginia & was in Hartford for a marathon. I Googled places to eat and came across this place. Read a few reviews & decided it try it. When we got there, it was empty except for two customers. Great! Place our orders and sat down. I had the chicken dinner with mac & cheese and greens. My friend had the fried fish with the same sides. Our food was good, fresh, and hot. Spoke briefly with the owner about the name of the restaurant & how long he’s been in business. Glad we made the choice to try out this establishment.

Had gotten the boneless chicken combo with collard greens , Mac n cheese & yams . The chicken & collard greens was seasoned perfectly . The corn bread was not as sweet as I expected & the yams were overly sweet . Regardless I think it was money well spent . From the last time I had this location it wasn’t all the great ( 2020 ) but I can tell they improved in most there dishes. As far as the friedness & seasons. Will definitely come back!

Located just off the green in New Britain, this is another place I didn’t expect to find food I like. You really have to be looking for it, because the sign for it looks like every other sign for every other business on the street. I immediately noticed that they have a sitting area just to the left of the entrance. After eating my meal I wanted to get comfortable on the couch. The itis is real! But before you get to the couch you have to order. The menu doesn’t intimidate you by having too many items on it. And the items that are on it are the staples of soul food. Mac and Cheese, yams, chicken, fish, collard greens, cabbage, and my personal favorite, ‘nana pudding! There’s more. I’m sure your favorites will be there too. The service was good. The food came out in a time that was more than reasonable. I expected it to take a while to get to me. It didn’t. I appreciated that. Everything was seasoned well. The portions were sufficient. Not overly generous, but not skimpy either. No complaints. I do have one issue though. I found myself wanting some Kool-Aid with my meal. They might actually have some. Stopped in tonight, haven’t been here in a while. My hubby choose the catfish with yellow rice and corn and i got the 8 piece wings tossed in lemon pepper with collard greens and mac and cheese. Both dishes very good, only thing is maybe next time i will ask for no salt on the wings. It was a little bit much. But keep up the great service, vibe and food. Appreciate the genuine quality.

Such a delight to visit this place! Kwame, Madison & rest of staff was so friendly & helpful! Loved learning about the town & the locals. The food was superb!! I was visiting f/ Florida will def visit again if ever in area! Much success & blessings to this wonderful gem! We loved the vibe, ate & jammed to good ol school music! Great service!!
