Family owned restaurant in a small country town. One thing is for sure, you are getting home cooked meals that are reasonably priced. Frequented by families on Sundays, Enjoyed by corrections officers during the week (there is a state prison very close by)

Exotic Snacks
So I’m local and go here somewhat often. This place isn’t that bad the food isn’t that bad to me or at least what I order. Most of the time if you get any sides like green beans or beans any type of side that would have liquid it always gets half of my meal wet but I do like the place. So I ordered something and went to get it it was only supposed to be 10 minutes it ended up being 30 and my food was cold I’ve never had an experience like this personally but it’s upsetting.

I really love the feel of this place, like you’re walking into someone’s home. It’s age definitely shows, but in my opinion that also carries a lot of the charm of the place. I was taken there by a friend who’s local to the area and has been going for some time, we weren’t able to try the buffet on Sundays but apparently it’s very popular. I was very impressed with the food, the menu is a little out of date and doesn’t look like much but it definitely delivered. Following the server’s recommendation, I got the baked ham with baked apples and green beans and it was great, the baked apples left a bit to be desired but overall was a good meal with a very homemade feel to it. My only criticisms are that the strawberry cheesecake was a bit too sweet and pudding-like for my taste, and that the place could use a bit of a makeover in some places. The confederate flag out back is also a bit off-putting but it’s not theirs and they also want to be rid of it but it’s not technically their property from what I understand now. I think this place could use a bit of love but it’s obvious they’ve been cooking these recipes for some time and it shows, I definitely recommend trying BG’s.

The service and the food was most excellent! I can’t believe that I waited all these years before actually going. I had the special, hamburger steak with brown beans and Cole slaw. Thanks so much to the employees for a most enjoyable meal.
