It was my first visit at MJ’s Downtown Cafe. It’s a quaint spot in downtown Brentwood. The restaurant was full; we may have waited 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a chicken and mushroom omelet with country potatoes and sourdough toast. It was good; a standard breakfast plate. Upon leaving, I noticed the case of breakfast pastries and cakes. I ordered the cherry cream cheese danish. THAT was spectacular! The danish was sweet and buttery. The cream cheese and cherries were a perfect addition. I enjoyed my experience and will return.

The hot coco is the BEST I HAVE EVER TRIED! I would have given 5 stars, but I feel as if the waitress could have been a tad more attentive. I didn’t get a single fill on my water. However, the people who brought over the food were super polite! Parking can be tricky if you visit during peak times. The French toast was tasty. Grilled tuna sandwich was actually good too! Everyone was happy with their selections!

I was excited to try this place because I read so many good reviews but I honestly did not love it we went for breakfast and the place was packed, waited about 40 mins to be seated, they served our food super fast which was great but the food itself was ok, just a regular breakfast and the hash browns were bland. The service could improve, I had to keep calling the server for basic things like napkins, ketchup, and when he served my coffee he spilled some on the table and didn’t clean it. Overall, I thought it would be better but it’s an ok place.

Banana pecan waffles were delicious! They give you huge portions. This restaurant gets really busy! Be there early. I wished they had more staffs. Waited a little bit too long for refills. Other than that, it’s an great place for breakfast.

MJ’s is located in the downtown area of Brentwood. The place is not that big. They offer breakfast and lunch menu and closes at 3pm. I guess you can call it brunch. I’ve never eaten here before but the pictures looked great.

I’ll be honest I’m not a big fan of diners but my family loves them. So Sunday we went to breakfast in Brentwood, me avocado toast & the kids pancakes, toast & hasbrowns. My $13 avocado toast had brown/grey avocados and super small toasts. My son also had hair in his toast. So I would skip and go elsewhere.

We ordered a cake for my Dad’s 75th birthday! There was a small misunderstanding on the timing, so the owner came in after hours to complete the cake herself and then hand delivered it to our house. I was super impressed and grateful! And the cake was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be back. THANK YOU!
