Mom and I stopped for a bite to eat, as this place was recommended by a church member. The cheeseburger was ok, tomato made the bun soggy. My pineapple shake had lots of yummy pineapple, it could have been a little thicker though. Mom’s fries were nice and hot, too salty for me.

It’s a traditional roadside diner! Walk up counter to place your order then seat yourself at a table. We both had cheeseburgers so I can’t comment on their other offerings of chicken, country steak, fish, shrimp, or BBQ. Our burgers were straight up old school good and juicy burgers. Seasoned fries or salt your own.

We try to avoid chain restaurants and look for local eateries. Thia one screams “local”.

Engle’s Roadside Rest is an amazing little place. Their hamburgers are the best and their catfish dinner is amazing. “Come see for yourself”.

We ordered the chicken strips dinner, the flounder dinner, and the frozen yogurt. Everything was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner.

Stopped by out of curiosity and asked for a pulled pork sandwich. It wasn’t on the menu but barbecue was. They did accommodate my request which was nice. The sandwich was very good and plentiful meat. The coleslaw was fine but I prefer a bit more zip. The downside was the bathroom. It was really old and dirty with peeling linoleum that could be tripped on.

It is an old roadside dive. Unclean, old building with old booths that only children can sit in comfortably. We had to remind staff about our drinks and that our dinners(that we paid dinner prices for)came with sides that I had to go up front to pick up. The food itself was nothing less than microwave meals. I had the flounder dinner way overcooked. He had the BBQ dinner that was about 3/4 cup of BBQ no bun, nothing! We will not be eating there again.

They have the absolute best food around…anybody that gives it less than 5 stars doesn’t know good food…which I know you can’t please everyone…

The Food is Always Good and always ready by the time we can drive around the corner and down Temple Hill a mile. Their Hamburgers remind me of the smell and taste of the griddle burgers I Grew Up on down in Jacksonville at POPS Drive-In. Great stuff!

Food was good, the place was a little Pricey! I paid $18.00 + for 2 Burgers, A side of Fries, Onion rings, Coleslaw, and 2 Pops. It’s not a diner there’s no table service you pick up your food when they call your Number.
