Delicious!!!!!! Great place in chilhowie to enjoy some barbecue! Restaurant is super clean, the staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. The food is amazing from the brisket and barbecue all the way to the sides. If you love barbecue you will love it here. Also offers a food challenge if your brave enough to try! Wonderful place to get you a quick bite to eat or sit down for dinner. Will definitely be back soon.

Mountains Are Best
Very clean, order and pick up at counter, very good BBQ brisket, chicken salad, very fresh salad and large portions. Slaw extra, no bread served with meal. No frills, just good food and prices. Nice folks there.

Flakey brisket hit the spot. Conveniently located off I-81, only 5 min detour from your trip. Whole roll of paper towels for each table is a nice touch. Sound system could be improved. This place seems to be a local favorite. They didn’t let me use the Wi-Fi though. Overall good experience.

Hands down the best brisket I’ve ever had . And I have tried brisket from local BBQ place. I would definitely drive out of my way to eat here. Best I’ve had yet and I’m am picky about my Beef Bacon……….. I’m a bit of a food and every bit was enjoyed one bite at a time. I usually don’t use BBQ sauce on my brisket because the meat itself should pull u in not the sauce. But the sweet sauce that was served with it was delicious perfectly sweetened and thick in comparison to some sauces you see. I recommend this restaurant for that down home BBQ taste with or without the sauce…. owners were friendly and went above and beyond for a small stop in to try some beef bacon on the way home from work. Do yourself a favor and stop by this small family owned business and show your love and support. You won’t regret driving out of your way I promise.

SO delicious! We were hankering for BBQ and stopped for lunch while traveling through on 81. Walk up and order at the counter…we ordered the smoked chicken sandwich and brisket sandwich with jalapeño chips and creamy, not too sweet or sour, just perfect cole slaw. Meat was soooo so tender, and the blended BBQ sauce was mixed with sweet & vinegar. Yum.

The food is fantastic. You definitely get what you pay for here. I’ve been to other bbq places that charge way more and got way less, but not here. We ordered the brisket and pulled pork, beans,coleslaw,mac and cheese,potato salad,smoked sausage, and kitchen sink potatoes, and everything was so good. The homemade bbq sauces are a great addition not to sweet, not to spicy. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Didn’t have to wait long for our order, maybe five or ten minutes. If you’re looking for great bbq, come here and come hungry.

Definitely worth pulling off the interstate for this pulled pork! The whole family enjoyed that and the Mac and cheese. My 7 year old asked for a second sandwich! Very clean and friendly staff. We ate it all too quickly to take pics.

The food is great, and the portions are large. We get the Friday family carryout deal (pork bbq, four buns, two pint sides, half gallon tea, four sauce cups for the bbq). You can’t beat this deal. The sliced chicken is also amazing, juicy, and tender, and it’s my favorite item. I call it in, and it’s hot and ready when I get there. My only recommendation would be to add green beans as a menu item. Be aware that there’s a small transaction fee if you use a credit card (and they have a note posted at the register, so there’s no surprise).
