It’s ashamed what Omar’s cafe has become. The sandwiches are not like before when the men were the cooks, and the girls are too busy rubbing they’re butt on customers and flirting instead of taking the correct orders.

I love the Cuban sandwiches from this place the bread is beautiful it’s crisp and perfectly toasted, the ham tastes fresh and not like from a deli. Overall it’s my favorite place to get a Cuban sandwich. They have a walk-up window that I usually go to and it’s a slight language barrier I speak English they speak Spanish but we eventually figure out what I’m getting. It’s a great place to stop in if you’re in Newark

So sad. As a child I would get sent by the hair salon across the st to pick up sandwiches. Was my childhood spot for cuban sandwiches. They didn’t have any when I went. This place has gone down hill. Huge change from how it used to be.

Hands down BEST Cuban sandwich, Steak sandwiches, Hot ham & cheese…Whether you want breakfast lunch, dinner, fresh fruit drinks, coffee…everything is delicious. Big portions, good quality and Omar & his staff are always friendly & welcoming.

I am reviewing my old review and I am so upset this place. I ordered a cuban sandwich and I was given a sandwich that had hardly any meat and it had pieces of napkins inside the Sandwich and a piece of burnt bay leave. I had to put pickles at home when I ordered the sandwich with pickles. I then called the place to notify of the horrible state of the sandwich..they said the owner will call back but i highly doubt it. Omar isn’t the same as a few years ago. Disgusting food and staff! King of disgusting ! I am very upset!

Been coming here for the best sandwiches in Newark for 15 years! They also have steam table with hot food ready to go for lunch time. They get busy at lunch but they make it all worth it! All the shakes and natural juices are a must! They are now accepting credit cards, which is the best thing ever! They’re open really early everyday but downside is they’re closed Sundays. Must visit!!!
