For the first time I had the best mofongo in Florida. It was very moist and flavorful. The chicharron was delicious. I’ve eaten at plenty of Dominican restaurants but la casa del chimi was the best and the prices was great. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Worst service I’ve had in a long time. Mediocre food. Worst mofongo I’ve ever had. Lots of room for improvement in all aspects of this business. What restaurant charges automatically charges 18% gratuity for a 2 person table after giving garbage service? Pretending you don’t know how to speak English but the words you do say in English have zero accent….really? Thankfully knew enough Spanish to get by but almost wish I hadn’t so we could have not given money to this establishment. Will definitely not come back!

The food and service are fine. We had beef chimi, pollo guisado with rice and beans, maduros, and tamarind juice. The chimi bread was perfect, but overall it was a little dry. The chicken was fine but also kind of dry somehow (maybe over cooked?). The maduros were perfect, and the tamarind juice was refreshing.

We had such an amazing time the other night. We went around 12am, it’s true they’re open until 3am. A little out of the way but the food was really worth the drive. Everything was flavorful, fresh and well made. There is a music and dancing area but it’s separate to the eating side. We went with our kids and faced no problems. The servers, managers and owner were all friendly and helpful.

BEWARE of this place if you are drinking. The food is good, service and pricing terrible! They over charge and double charge if they think you aren’t looking at the bill or if they think you are drinking too much or drunk. In my opinion the owners act like they care about the customers but are really only there for the money. CHECK YOU BILL AND ASK QUESTIONS!!! The owner hates it when you question his charges or services. BEWARE!!!
