This is a hidden gym in the middle of Akron, Ohio. A great place to come by yourself, or with friends or even a special someone. Food was good, atmosphere was great, and we got to see a live band that rocked the upstairs bar and grill. A must see if you’re in downtown Akron.

I went to this place for dinner and I loved the chill ambience of this place. The seating was comfortable and the servers were very friendly and attentive. Had a couple of drinks and a veggie burger which was cooked nicely and had a nice flavor. All of this was reasonably priced and I had a good time enjoying my meal and drinks.

The wait for the food wasn’t too bad, about 30-40 minutes but that’s because it was a Friday night. For starters, we got the sauerkraut balls which you get a lot for the price and they were well cooked. A little on the salty side but still pleasant. I got the spinach salad and it was delicious: the spinach was fresh and gave plenty of cheese and dressing. Then I got the veggie burger with fries: fries were decent and the burger was pretty good, plenty of veggies to complement the patty along with delicious cheese. My fiancé got the Mac n cheese which was probably the best I’ve ever had. Service was kind and attentive.

The menu is pretty basic, and over time, I’ve run through much of it. It’s…fine. I have never had a meal there that made me excited to go back. I have definitely ordered takeout that was very wrong and missing items. It’s an Akron institution, so sure, go check it out once. Maybe. But there are so many better restaurants in the area.

The Lockview is a great bar / restaurant for friends, dates, kids, families. I’ve been coming here for Gourmet Grilled Cheese, tots and beer forever. Definitely one of my favorite places in Akron. Great seating on the roof when the weather is good. I’ve tried all of the classic grilled cheese sandwiches and I’m glad that I did. That said, I am 100% in love with the #10 Havarti Dill.
