I pressed the wrong star…it should have been 5 stars. The chef had been trained by chef Charley so the food is great…The chefs have high standards and it’s apparent in their cuisine. The staff that handles customers and cuisine is very friendly, personable and knowledgeable in what they serve…charley’s thai cuisine has 2 locations..waikaloa and waimea..hope I didn’t miss anything in general

Not recommended for humans. This could be the the island’s driest, most unflavorful meal. Like hay for horses. Sauce is the most important part of Thai cuisine, however, salt is not a sauce. Please for your own safety go nextdoor and buy a banana and apple.

The local guides dont know Thai food. There are far better Thai restaurants on the Bigisland. Tom yum didnt have any lime leaves, ginger or lemon grass. Beef salad had granulated garlic and was mostly bean sprouts?? Entree items were poorly favored n were more like bland Cheap Chinese food. Poor choice to take my mom out for a birthdays lunch 🙁

We stopped recently on our way (the long way from Kona) to Hilo. I am a big lover of yellow curry–something I try at every Thai restaurant, so that’s what I ordered. The spice was just right–not too had and not too mild. (I requested medium spice and that’s what I got). I found the taste to be very good–not my favorite in the world, but certainly some of the best on the island.

Best curry fried rice I’ve had. I would go back. If you order the plates with bland spice, that’s what you get. I ordered medium spice and it was excellent.
