Duchess of Cigarillo
We used to love going to the Far East Buffet but our visit today was below par. The only good thing we can say about the restaurant is that their sushi is still fresh and tasty for the remainder the noodles were oily, the green beans, and mushrooms gritty as if they hadn’t been washed before being cooked. They used to have wonderful desserts but the desserts looked stale and absolutely no variety of ice cream. The bathrooms were dirty, the waste basket overflowing with paper and other distasteful trash. The ceiling tiles are growing mould where water has dripped and pooled. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. It’s a shame, they are in an ideal location with plenty of parking. It needs plenty of love and attention and a complete scrub from top to bottom.

Food was very good and tasty, but some of it was just barely worm. By the time that you finished, it was cold. I know that things can happen, so I will try them again and see. They had a very nice selection, and I will not let one time .turn me away. So we will see !!???

Most of the food coming off the buffet was cold. They apparently don’t have the steam tables set up correctly. The food had an odd taste like it had either been sitting there too long or maybe how it was prepared.

First time, was recommended to us but not what we hoped. Hibachi grill is nice but not all items kept filled. Meat was tough after cooking, chicken was good. Interior has run down look, needs to be updated. Cook, server and greeter were nice.

Satisfies the craving for Chinese buffet- classics like chicken on a stick, crab Rangoons, sweet and sour chicken. The crawfish are delicious, as is the steamed white fish. Hot and sour soup was good too. I love that they add pickled mustard stems to their stir fried green beans. Some things could be kept fresher – for example the fried chicken wings tasted like they had been frozen for too long before fried.

I had lunch at the Far East Buffet a few days ago. I gave them only three stars because I thought their food was just ok, I had their sesame chicken , egg roll with steamed vegetables. The egg roll was over cooked and the chicken was good but a little tough. My husband had their sushi and thought it was very good and very fresh. The restaurant was clean and the staff very nice and attentive.

Attentive and fantastic staff and food was replenished frequently. But food quality was lack luster and average. Crab rangoon was all cream cheese and egg drop soup had a “skin” on the surface. Atmosphere really needs updating – soiled ceiling tiles, chandelier is half working, and tables were uneven. Should have guessed with less than 5 families in the whole place. Disappointed.

I asked if I could put a couple donuts in a separate container with my takeout order. I was told that I could not put the donuts in a separate container unless I paid for another order. I did pay six dollars for another order so I did not have to put my donuts in with the rest of my food. I also put two donuts in a soup bowl that was given to me. I was stopped at the front desk and told that in the future soup bowls were only for soup. I told her that I would not be back again. She laughed at me. I $30 for two to go boxes +6 dollars to have the donuts separate. In my opinion the restaurant is not very clean. The food is mediocre. The staff is poor. They have been around a long time but I don’t think they will be around much longer. People expect to get what they pay for. I did leave the “soup only” bowl on the counter.

They had served rotten chicken. You could smell the rot. Reported them to the state as I am already feeling ill. Other dishes are about the same. They cover the rot with salt or msg. Avoid at all costs.
