Expect the high prices- afterall you are in Newport RI and the Tennis Club. It was a great atmosphere watching tennis and having lunch outside. Lobster roll was delicious, a nice lemon zest to it but the roll could’ve been better. I prefer a soft buttery grilled roll. Fries were cooked perfectly.

Food was great. Was a great meal at a decent price you would expect from a similar establishment. After being seated, the cup was filled once, order was taken, and we didn’t have a waiter or anyone come by to refill the water till we asked. After about 35 minutes the food came out, and the waiter only stopped by once more when we asked for the check. Food was great, service was not

We had a nice indoor table for two couples. Two of them ordered a salad that included fresh avocados. Although the waitress was friendly she neglected to let them know that the restaurant was “out” of avocados. Eventually a staff member told us that it would be too much trouble to get some. A bit weird. Not sure if they reduced the bill but in general, not such great service. However, it is worth noting that the food we were served was good and the regular prices less than we expected.

We were exhausted after the Cliff Walks and Easton Beach and stumbled across this place. Right away we were welcomed and served cold water. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. I had the pesto chicken sandwich that was amazing. The fries were hot and crispy. Others had a chicken Caesar salad, seafood fettuccine and burgers. All of the food was prepared fresh and tasted so good. The clam chowder was satisfying! Would stop here again on my next visit to Newport!

We found this restaurant after mansion tours and hours of walking. The food was great (lobster roll, spring burger, fries, and coleslaw): but the service was below average. It took about 15 minutes to get our food with a nearly empty restaurant.

Long time residents of Aquidneck Island but we moved to Texas and Vermont. La Forge was a frequent for me when I lived here. We came down to RI for a wedding and decided to have lunch at La forge. It did not disappoint. I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp and as a older woman who has eaten more than my share, this was the best ever. Fresh, perfectly cooked and plate licking good. I was getting full but didn’t want the meal to end! It was a Sunday and they were very busy but they handled it and the staff was delightful. We will be back!

Service was super slow, almost an hour for 3 entrees (fish and chips, stuffed cod and Caesar salad). Stuffed cod was the same exact stuffing used for stuffed quahogs, but in the menu they make it sound like the stuffed cod is a special mix. Not sure how this place is rated so highly.

Not a good experience! The menu is dated the food is bland and the staff is inattentive! The only reason it got two stars for atmosphere is cause the over 70 crowd was singing karaoke in the bar.

Our lunch was great! I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and it tasted fresh, crispy, and delicious. My family ordered Baked Cod and a Cheese Burger with a side of pico de gallo. My father who ordered the Baked Cod was so impressed by the taste that he wanted to lick the plate haha!
