The brisket is way too dry for the price it cost. The BBQ sauce is just bottled sauce with water added to thin it out. I’m assuming they make the corn bread in large quantities and freeze until ready for use. You could tell it was nowhere near fresh. Giving 2 stars because the mac and cheese was pretty good. Over all the plate was nowhere near worth the $37 price tag.

What better way to spend a Friday afternoon in the summer? The line was out the door so we definitely needed patience but the food was spot on and worth the wait. The brisket, Mac & cheese, and smoked cheddar jalapeno sausage were everything I dreamed of from the first time I saw social media posts of Matt Horn’s BBQ.

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the food, let alone the experience.

The food is incredible! I highly recommend eating here if you’re a fan of high quality BBQ’d meats. The side dishes are top notch as well. I had their pit beans, Mac n cheese and collard greens but ate them before I could take a photo! Whoops! Come get your BBQ fix here, you won’t be disappointed.

Great BBQ but be prepared to pay! Definitely some of the best BBQ I have had in the Bay Area. With that said, this was also probably the MOST expensive BBQ I have had as well. The ribs were excellent but Im not sure they are good enough to warrant charging twice as much compared to other very good spots in the area. The brisket really shined! Perfectly seasoned and melts in your mouth. The sides were great but also very pricey for what you get. My personal favorite was the mac n cheese. You can’t really go wrong with what you order, everything is REALLY good. However, I definitely wish I would have ordered more brisket instead of paying 36$ for 1 lb of ribs.

I came here a little late in the day to avoid lines, prepared to be disappointed, since I grew up in the era of Flint’s, and also lived just a few blocks from here at 32nd and Union, a few doors down from the Union Street smokehouse (a family owned smokehouse, that used to sell head cheese, cured and smoked meats out of a garage) of the 1970s,

This is the REAL DEAL Texas BBQ. That’s right, this is the brisket you been craving since Texas is right here served up hot and fresh in the style and process that you’d come to expect Texas BBQ should. The only thing to know is the hours of this place sometimes don’t line up with what google says here and its located in a interesting side of oakland which you should be aware of but I would march through an active war zone just to get another mouth watering bite of this stuff, you wont find this quality anywhere else around the Bay!

I went on a Sunday night and so they were low on options, but I did get to try the mac n cheese, BBQ pulled pork, and brisket which were both delicious. For dessert, their bread pudding satisfied my sweet tooth craving. Some of my friends recommended ordering take out early to avoid the crowds, so I may consider that next time to make sure they have more options available!

I’ve had trouble finding good barbecue in SF, so had to give Oakland spots a try. This was so good. There was a line, but it wasn’t too bad and definitely worth the wait. The items most worth getting are the beef rib (life changing), brisket, and bread pudding.

An absolutely amazing establishment with both spectacular food, service, and ambience. If you are looking for Texas BBQ in California look no further then Horn. The brisket sandwich and ribs are killer the chicken is bursting with flavor and juices. While there isn’t They truly earn the Michelin Star.
