Was able to attend the soft opening and I was incredibly impressed. I’m not a martini person but can honestly say the motortini was the best martini I’ve ever had. The tuna was amazing. Each bite of tuna was so deliciously tender, it melted in your mouth during each bite. Also the fried chicken with the bottom layer of curry sauce . Highly recommend and would go back today if I could

The restaurant is fancy. It’s nice and clean. The oyster is so fresh. It’s delicious. The chicken wings are good too. The grilled shrimp is well cooked. It is very tasty. The staff is nice. There are a lot of cocktails and beer options.

The restaurant is the old Republic that closed down after a nice long run in Takoma Park. The oysters were so fresh, unfortunately you can also smell the stand that sits directly on the bar.

Incredible! The service and food was impeccable. The grilled prawns are to die for, I had to come back the following day. The steak and pork belly way incredible. Not sure who was in charge of the collard greens but they were phenomenal. Also tried sunchokes for the first time and let me tell you they knew what they were doing. The oysters were tasty and well priced. the happy hour menu was on point. I would recommend the crab salad and lobster rolll. I don’t live in the area but will definitely be coming back for more. Oh and the cocktain menu was well crafted. Great music. Great drinks 10/10

Motorkat is a phenomenal restaurant, bar, and raw bar. The food is balanced, the oysters smack, the drinks are great, and the service is phenomenal. I come for the happy hour (the burger is a great deal and well worth it), the dozen MD oysters with all the sauces (because they don’t mess around), and because the staff there are respectful and attentive and good at their jobs.

All I can say is WOW! I went to Motorkat yesterday and could not have been more pleased with my experience. The ambiance was on point, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and *literally* every single item we ordered was incredible. On the raw menu, oysters were well priced and delicious (the Sweet Jesus was my favorite) and the crab salad was delicious. The pork belly main was perfectly crispy and the cauliflower was surprisingly delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try the tuna and some more cocktails! Motorkat will definitely be a staple in my dining out routine.

Let’s start with what doesn’t work: It’s a bar, it’s loud. Now what works: Service is great . The hosts even offered to help bring in my Aunt who was in a wheelchair. Crab salad was very fresh! So fresh, we picked out a little shell. Oysters on half-shell were plump, juicy & delicious. Happy Hour menu was VERY HAPPY Good deal/ good value/ good Staff !!!

Amazing time at Motorkat! My husband and I stopped by for dinner and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone we spoke to was incredibly friendly; the atmosphere and service were great. We tried several drinks, all of which we would 10/10 get again. There are also so many great vegan and vegetarian options (definitely recommend the risotto, brined cabbage, and cauliflower skewers). Already planning our next trip back!!
