Amazing burger! HAL burger is an absolute must get. Really loved the combo of the ground beef with the steak strips on it. Light teriyaki flavor and every bite had a little bit of every flavor.

The aroma is wonderful and we were looking forward to trying the burgers. The taste didn’t match the smell. We ordered the burger with an extra patty, although the patties were dry. Maybe the burger patties are frozen when put on the grill, just didn’t taste like much.

Pretty good burger, got the Hal Special with the sliced steak on the burger with only mayo. It wasn’t the juiciest burger I’ve ever had but it also was by no means dry. Could be better, maybe it’s bc I didn’t get all the ketchup and mustard and relish on it. It was good, very limited parking here, longish wait for food if you don’t call ahead, but very good overall value for a burger and definitely a fun vibe. 4/5

Favorite local burger joint !!. Feels almost non “fast food”. I started eating burgers late in my life so I am very discriminating when I do decide to eat meat. I really like the teriyaki burger they serve here. The fries are always crispy and perfectly sized (not too thick and not too skinny). I also like that the fries are not too oily. My go to order is hamburger deluxe with ketchup and mustard.

One of those “must get” burgers on Oahu. Lots of memories coming to this Waialae/Kaimuki staple. Pro tip: order ahead over the phone as there is usually a line and a wait when you get there. Also, parking is at a premium so unless you get super lucky, expect to drop somebody off to get your order and come back to pick them up.

My fav is the Hal burger, a tasty pairing of burger, teri beef, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Secret to their sandwiches is the special bbq sauce which dates back to 1940. Fries are always crispy. Chocolate mousse cake is a go-to for those weak, sweet moments. Try to visit during slower opening or closing hours as this is a very high traffic location with limited parking. Tag teaming is highly recommended.
