Come hungry for these big burritos! Best in the area. Was shocked they actually had chicken tamales, everywhere else only serves pork. The ice cream bars are great, too. Not overly sweet, real fruit and made in house.

Authentic, great atmosphere, and friendly staff, this place is a hidden gem, and a MUST if you’re in Akron. La Fresa is a taqueria, ice cream shop, and a mini market that sells real Mexican candy and handmade piñatas. The food here is absolutely delicious, and the ice cream is so good, I’d eat it anytime during the year! I would recommend the Agua frescas and the tacos, but honestly if you’re a fan of mexican food, anything here will be a hit!

The ice cream was good but the flavors aren’t marked so you have to ask what each flavor is. The worker wasn’t sure of some of the flavors but she described them well & was very nice. I’d like to go back to try the food. There’s a candy store inside which is a great place to buy a piñata or the candy to fill one.

Wow! What an experience it was dining here. I came from Cleveland due to a Cleveland food page asking where one can get spicy mangonadas nearby, and everyone said this was the only place. I was in the area anyway and stopped in at an hour and a half before close. The owners were there and they were so so SWEET. The kindest people with a beautiful space! So clean and so much effort put into the decor. I felt like I was at home, and the food was delicious!! I ate about 25% of my burrito and that’s with me starving! The food is HIGH QUALITY and it was served within ten minutes. Everyone was so kind and friendly, I didn’t want to leave!! Definitely the best place in Akron for authentic Mexican street food/deserts!!!

Authentic! My husband and I finally made our way to this gem for the first time today for lunch. When I tell you we were in awe of the authenticity, great customer service, and variety of food and products is an understatement. We absolutely loved the atmosphere too! Not too small and certainly not too big. I hate that we were more than half done with our dishes before I realized I’d forgotten to snap photos, but that’s simply how darn good it was. We both chose burritos (different kinds) and when I tell you they were HUMONGOUS, chockfull of fresh ingredients that were consistently spread thru out. Oh! I forgot to mention the thin chips and the fresh salsa (which had a nice kick! ️). Simply amazing. We found our go-to for that authentic taste of Mexico!

Where do I start. I have never been to a more authentic restaurant other than La Fresca. It really felt as if we where in the streets of Mexico. Their selection definitely isn’t for everyone, but those willing to step out of their comfort zone and for those who want real authenticity, please give this this a try. I support this business 100%

Lots of fun with my kids in the family here. The owners are super nice and gave us samples of everything. Dollar taco specials on Mondays. They have tons of authentic Mexican ice cream flavors made in house. The Agua Fresca flavors are unbelievable! We will absolutely come back!
