Excellent choice just outside of Riverhead. Delicious pasta and seafood dishes by Sicilian-born chef Gambino. We loved our table on the porch in the lovely late summer weather. The Flounder Oreganata was excellent and came with a large side dish of pasta – in our case we chose linguine with clam sauce. The clams were large and flecked with olive and herbs. The pan-fried scallops were similarly mouth-watering. We’ll be back.

Sat wirh no wait at a pretty little table on the porch. (Have to note that upon leaving there appeared to be quite a wait so make your resys early). All locally sourced food was excellent and came our steing hot. We didnt care for the zucchini flowers infortunately. These were too heavily dredged in egg and therefore lost some of its delicate flavor and lightness. Drinks were also delicious and they have a very nice wine selection including local choices. Hand made cannolli for dessert was yummy!

Had some delicious pasta at Il Giardino. The pappardelle bolognese, the salmon pasta and the lemoncello cake were absolutely delicious. The rib eye, the tiramisu and the cannoli were ok. The ambiance and the vibes were amazing, both for dinner with friends and dates. The servers were very nice, and we even met some nice people at the bar as well as the chef. However, the waiting time was completely ridiculous: we had to wait for almost 1 hour after ordering our food! Would reserve ahead of time and come in only if you have the time for a delicious, yet somewhat slow dinner 🙂

Il Giardino “The Garden” is a farm to table scicilian restaurant by the Great John Gambino & its now one of my favorite places! I had such a fantastic dining experience I can’t wait to go back! John’s bruschetta bread was delicious I couldn’t stop eating it. The mussels were the freshest I ever had, it felt like the mussels came from the ocean directly into John’s kitchen. The fresh mozz& tomato tasted as good as it looked beautiful! But lets talk about the showstopper, the headliner, the main event! Everyone knows I love veal parmsean & Im always looking for the best. John’s Veal Parmesan is one for the ages, it was so tender my spoon cut it right down the middle like a knife! Its the best veal parmsean I had in years & its going on my mount Rushmore for best veal parmseans! If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit Il Giardino make the trip its worth it!

Hands down one of the best places on the Island to eat at. Food is out of this world and John the owner takes so much pride in his food and the establishment he created. Treats you like family. Just be sure to get there early or you might have to wait. The wait tells you it’s well worth it. People don’t wait for bad food.

I made a reservation a week in advance, expecting a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately, upon arriving at the restaurant, it quickly became apparent that my expectations were far from being met.

I’d like to begin by sharing that writing reviews, particularly negative ones, is something I rarely do. Being a family with our own business, I tend to extend understanding and empathy towards other small businesses. However, I must express my disappointment with the service I encountered.

We recently moved to Greenport and been looking for a nice spot for dinner, a good friend recommended Il Giardino to my husband and we went here last week. We didn’t realized that this place is super busy and we don’t have reservation so we end up seating in the bar, our bartender/server was amazing. The food was unbelievable.

Place could use a good cleaning glasses and silverware we’re dirty as well. Food was average, but in our dinner party a complete meal was missed by the staff. After informing the waitress we waited an additional 30 minutes. Understaffed or overbooked always seemed to be behind.
