Heard about it through a friend, decided to try it out. Staff (Renee) was amazing, very courteous and helpful. It was hard to find a decent eggplant parm sandwhich anywhere, but Carmens mase everything from scratch and the sauce wasnt spicy. Definitely our new favorite place!!! Thank you John for your years of food service!!!!

The service was great. The waiter was only there for 2 days and did a great job. The food was good just not how I normally get it. I ordered the chicken marsala and it came in a bowl of pasta. Everywhere else it’s on a plate with potatoes and a vegetable. The waiter offered to change it, but I didn’t want to wait any longer for my meal. Drinks were good.

The food is very good, it’s Cirin. However the staff and general dining experience was a mess. I was hoping for an alternative to Stingers or Lion’s Head but Carmen’s isn’t it. It’s either a regular old man’s bar with a fine chef or it’s a restaurant with a below average dining experience. I’m not even sure what Carmen’s knows it is but I hope they figure it out. I want this place to succeed.

This Bar/Restaurant is Fantastic. It used to be called Della Polla’s for many years while I was growing up in Folsom, the next town over. Surprisingly I never visited this place until now which I think is still managed by the same people though I’m not certain. But everything they make is so delicious and a much larger amount than a typical entree anywhere else. I got penne w/vodka sauce and it was made perfectly. And anyone who knows anything about Italian Cuisine knows that it takes a special “know how” to achieve the love that you could taste in this dish. My sister got the same thing and agrees. My brother in-law got the Italian stromboli and it was made perfectly, and served literally on a silver platter (probably stainless steel, but still). The calamari appetizer we ordered was noticeably different than what I’m used to in a good way, as it appeared to be breaded and fried right there in the establishment rather than bought frozen. I Definitely reccomend Carmens so much that I’m going to get it published on my next Google Maps list of “Favorite Places To Go!” If you’re in town, check this place out!

My name is Todd. I haven’t been to the resteraunt yet, but I was at the smaller spot on Fairview Ave. On a regular basis. I told the chef it was a matter of time before you guys got a resteraunt because the food is PHENOMENAL!!!! Wasn’t sure it was the same crew, but I read a review of one of the customers and recognized the dish AND came with it. Can’t wait to see your plated presentations. You guys will be very successful because the food is the draw. Everything else can be improvefd and worked on but if the food ain’t right, FORGET IT. Trust me……your food is RIGHT!!!!!!!!
