Moving back to Abilene soon, I was so excited to see a Torchy’s in the area! This will probably be a regular spot for me. I’m not eating as much meat these days, so I ordered the fried avocado taco. It was so much better than I thought it would be! I LOVED it. The queso was perfect.

The service was less than desirable. Had never been, probably won’t go back. Had questions on the food, as a first timer, was made to feel stupid by the young girl behind the counter. She was less than helpful, to say the least. Waited on my “to go” order for about 20mins. Food was great. I maybe expected more than my tiny burrito for the amount of money I paid. Wasn’t a great first time experience.

As always the green chili queso was great. We added the chorizo in it this time and it adds an nice flavor. Chips were cold and a bit stale but ok. My wife really enjoyed the Tequila Sunrise on the Happy Hour menu. She said it was the best she ever had. We asked for the hidden menu that included a few different tacos. I forgot to take photos of them but I got the Coconut Shrimp Taco. It was ok, the breading on the shrimp was overly thick and over seasoned so we have to pick it off to eat it. Wife went with the pork carnitas and she likes it. Overall good visit but nothing special.

The girls at the order counter were friendly and did a good job. The restaurant was dirty including the walls above the tables, the chairs, the front doors, etc. Very unkept look especially for a chain restaurant. The food was good, but was slow coming out and we were eating at 3 pm which was a slow time. Not impressed by the overall experience.
