Stopped here Friday to try it out. It was wonderful! I am picky about my Mexican food and El Vaquero is a notch above the rest! The staff is very friendly and the food is very tasty. The Carne Asada was very very good! The fajita burrito was huge and very good. The salsa had a great flavor and so did the cheese dip! The cheese dip was actually more than just melted cheese but had spices that gave it a good flavor. I will be going back!

The place has potential. The waitress needs to learn the menu and when questions are asked, needs to actually return with an answer and not just leave the customer hanging. We watched food go in circles because she didn’t know what table had what (it wasn’t that busy), drinks went in circles, bills were sent back to be fixed by multiple tables (ours included). Our meals were not delivered as described in the menu (some steak in a tortilla does not really constitute a burrito) and when we asked, she never returned, so we asked her again asked for our missing rice, she just disappeared. We had to ask another person to confirm we really were supposed to have rice and get us some. The steak in my burrito was excellent. The rice, once I had it, was good. If it were in my burrito where it belonged, it would have been great!

The food was actually great! The service, not so much. My meal didn’t come till well after everyone in my party was done eating theirs. When it did come, it was missing ingredients. I had to remind the waitress twice for refills and the missing ingredients. One person in my party ordered Mexican tacos and got American. As good as the food was, the service soured the experience and we will not be back.

Service was incredibly slow and unorganized. And there was like three other tables occupied at the time we were there. Waitress forgot our drinks twice and we had to remind her about them. Guy making our drinks even had to come out and ask what we ordered.

It took 1 hour an 20 min to get our food they were not busy an 4 tables left before we g it our food because they were taking so long or would not take there order. After we ordered it was over 30 minutes before the waitress checked on us. They were telling people it was taking so long because of a rush. There was no cars there when my husband come home and it was only 30 minutes before we got there. So what rush. We have been there about 4 times before an had no problems but tonight was the last time we will NOT go back.

Went on “Taco Tuesday” and was told you can only order 4 tacos at a time. That was fine, but it took 30 minutes for our first set of tacos to come out. Then when we ordered our next 4, it took at least 30 more minutes again. So an hour of waiting for food. After being there for an hour and a half, we decided we didn’t want to stay and wait another 30 minutes so we left. My husband can’t have the tortillas they served us with because it gives him bad headaches, and when he asked if he could have a homemade tortilla we were told he couldn’t have it because we we were ordering a “special” (“all you can eat”) Our waitress didn’t look at us when she was checking on her other tables and delivering food. We sat with empty plates for 15 minutes before we got our waitress’s attention to ask for our check so we could leave. We will not be going back. WORST SERVICE WE HAVE EVER EXPIERENCED!

So impressed by this place! They definitely exceeded our expectations by far. As a bartrnbar and server I was very pleased by the server who seemed new but was very friendly and helpful and asked the bartender when she didn’t know the answer to my question! The bartender came and talked with us and brought us a sample drink of his special peach margarita which was incredible. And speaking of margaritas the $1.50 Wednesday special margaritas were delicious and made from scratch with all real natural ingredients, no nasty sour mix! Honestly even better than my own I make at home! And then came our food! I ordered a pineapple chorizo quesadilla (they make their own chorizo in house) and omggggg it was so good! Not too spicy not too sweet, spiced perfectly! My fiance raved about his flauta, enchilada and his pork tamales (his favorite)! We are so excited that this place opened up right down the street from us and we’ll will be singing it’s prasies to everyone who’ll listen!

This place has potential. As of this review, they’ve only been open for a weeks but there are still some service issues. The interior’s been totally remodeled since it was a diner and it looks a little nicer inside. The menus are not the easiest to read because they’re grainy photocopies in black and white. The food selection is not as big as many other area Mexican restaurants but all the basics are here plus a few things like a giant $40 burrito made with 7 flour tortillas, and potato chips covered in cheese sauce.

We really want to like this place but both times we have been they have been under staffed and it has taken forever to get our food. We ordered the $5 chorizo cheese dip last time and it took 20 minutes just to get that and the chorizo was all stuck together and lasted maybe 10 chips total. Otherwise, our nachos were good and the staff is friendly.
