This fully plant-based restaurant has a beautiful interior. The staff were all attentive when it came to clearing plates or water refills, but oddly aloof in any verbal interactions.

Gorgeous new plant based restaurant on the water in Marina del Rey. After a successful run in Toronto and other cities, Planta has landed in Los Angeles. There are many highlights on the menu, but the stand out for sure is the truffle udon noodle pasta. The flavour is strong, and it was our favourite. While I don’t typically like sushi, I also really enjoyed the dragon roll.

This food is somehow all plant based AND you’ll never know it! The cocktails are perfect! The herb your enthusiasm made me think I was at the four seasons in punta mita. The “sushi” was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had hands down and won’t make you miss the old stuff. Come for adventure and stay for quality.

We went for brunch. Our server was excellent. We ordered 4 dishes. Heirloom Tomatoes Crostini, beet and avocado with taro chips, chilequilles and Mafalde pasta with pesto sauce. The egg on the Chillequilles was a masterful use of molecular gastronomy. The flavors were bold on every dish but I would have added salt to a couple of dishes. The Horchata cheese cake was not too sweet and really creamy. The chocolate brownie with hot fudge sauce was perfect. You were not giving up any flavor just for it to be vegan. It’s like an excellent version of flourless chocolate cake. The iced cream on top was not very creamy but it had the proper texture. Brunch was $100 per couple before tip. I enjoyed my meal although I did get hungry about 4 hours after. I usually don’t get hungry again for 6 hours. I can see us going back again to try more food. Check out my picture of the egg atop the Chillequilles. It had a runny yoke and everything.
