Visited the little historic town of Monroe today bc I hadn’t been in at least 20 years and boy has it changed! Google soul food and R.J’s came up with 4.5 ⭐s so decided to give it a try and I’m sure happy I did! The catfish was outstanding as was the fried okra (so much) and butterbeans even though I could only taste the cornbread bc of how very full I was it was quite tasty too! The best part though is this is a family business the daughter is the owner but the grandma cooks and the daughters daughter works the counter also her brother works there too and all of them were the nicest people! So down to earth and friendly we got to try the chicken salad which was DELICIOUS if I hadn’t already ordered the catfish I would’ve gotten chicken salad! Can’t wait to go back for a Sunday dinner! There’s no inside dining since covid but the owner raised an umbrella and we ate on the front patio with perfect weather and a steady stream of customers that we so enjoyed talking too! Definitely my kinda place and I promise if you give them I try you won’t be disappointed!

Tried the wings for the first time. Kitchen was dirty, they’ve clearly never cleaned anything in the kitchen. Got 40 wings. Wife and I both woke up at 2am with food poisoning. Vomited all night and into the morning. Both had to miss work. Will never be back.

My first time here at this location…it was pretty cool…it was smelling good from the outside so I pulled up…I was greeted by mommy & daughter with a warm welcome…they was super friendly an polite…I ordered the pork chop meal with the mango passion drink…it was delicious…I will definitely be back again for a second visit if I’m ever out in the country part of Georgia again…

This is some of the best food on this side of heaven. We’re from Houston Tx and have been working in Georgia for the last month. We’ve tried several different places ..but THIS!!!! This was the best we’ve had. Gizzards we’re delicious, pork chop sandwich was on point , the catfish was seasoned to perfection. Everything was good. We also ordered wings , chicken salad and rice, beef and noodle concoction…Oowweee I loved it all. Souther hospitality at its finest. Great customer service . Highly recommended
