Great Puerto Rican food and drinks. This place is on rahway avenue which is the main drag in Elizabeth. Overall the place is small but the love of Puerto Rican culture is big. The inside of the restaurant is rather small. There are tables outside where it is spacious, the food overall was very tasty and came out very hot. As you can see from the pictures we had all of the appetisers except for a few. The roasted pork with rice was outstanding.. the mofongo with the chicken was super moist and fresh. They have a small parking lot with one accessible space. I only give them four stars because they have a small bathroom which might not be accessible to a wheelchair. Of course this place is really small so it would be super difficult to have an accessible bathroom built-in without much expense.

I placed an order for a small get together and they never received the order but they took care of it right away. They were extremely friendly and took it very personal. They have a cute outside area and it BYOB. I also catered to my job a week later with all appetizers and everyone loved it! I love small family owned businesses and look forward to continuing the support.

Very cute Puertorrican spot! Loved the “Bistec encebollado” Steak, onions, white rice, beans and salad. The Yuca alcapurria was to die for and the cheese and beef pastelillo was very good. Very nice and helpful owners! Wishing them the best of luck!

I was doing a business stop in the Elizabeth NJ area and wanted some food. I did a search and found Cafe Con Leche restaurant .. I ordered pernil, arroz con gandules, alcapurria de Guineo and one de yuca. I also ordered some tostones. Alcapurrias were fresh cooked per order. Not precooked. Big difference in taste and crisp. They were real good. Pernil was good and so was the rice and gandules. BUT WHAT STOOD OUT THE MOST!! Was the young Lady CHETNEY. I think she’s the cook and owner. She came over and asked me if I wanted some mayo ketchup sauce for my tostones. I said no sorry I don’t use that sauce. She said is there anything you would like? I said do you have MOJITO??? she said no, but I could make some fresh for you. would u like some she said. I said you would do that? Only reason I asked her that is because most restaurants if they don’t have it premade ur out of luck.. she replied yes I’ll make some for u. NOT ONLY did she make it fresh but it was some of the best mojito I’ve had in years. Mojito is a garlic dip for the fried tostones.. just for that reason she gets 5 stars. I wish I could have giving her 10 stars.. u don’t see that kind of attention to customers in most restaurants.. her complete staff was warm and friendly.. next time I’m in the area I will definitely pay them a visit..

I normally don’t do this, but sometimes we need to be honest. This was the worst spanish food I ever had. They need to work in the seasoning and the portion of the food and make sure if the food is really worth it of the price. Hopefully, they put it together as a business, and I wish them the best in the future.

I recently visited NJ for the first time and was told to give this spot a try so I did! I ordered 4 different empanadas and a side order of rice. Everything was extremely fresh and flavorful. The employees greeted me and were very helpful translating the menu & answering my questions. Check them out, you won’t regret it!

Great Puertorican food. I had the pernil with arroz con gandules and maduros fritos. The pernil was juicy and flavorfull. Arroz con gandules was delicious. Also came with a good green salad. Theres limited outside seating. But this is still a great spot for delicious takeout. Food comes out fast. Staff is very friendly as well

Let’s start with the outside area, it is very nice and clean, that’s the good part. Food: We ordered some appetizers, the alcapuria particularly was not cooked properly and the taste/seasoning was not the best, same with the bacalaito, and it was not crunchy (soggy). The rice also had a strange taste. Chicken was cooked through but not well seasoned. Mofongo tasted like vinegar….

I will say I’ve been coming here very frequently. Brings me back to the island. My favorite to order here is the sorullos, alcapurias de yuca and bistec with white rice and beans. I am a repeat customer and would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for authentic Puertorican food. FYI I’m picky as hell.

The food was delicious, the staff is super nice, inside of the restaurant is very clean. The chicken and beef empanadas were the BEST part of it all. Being that this is the only Puerto Rican spot in Elizabeth, New Jersey, makes it so much better, reminds me of home. Thank you to all of the staff there that made the experience so much more <3
