This is a cute little BBQ restaurant on the south Hill . Very traditional southern style BBQ and sides . Ribs are amazing and the hush puppies are the best I ever had . The Brisket for dry and not very appetizing.

Can’t say enough how happy I am about the very existence of this place – the food is absolutely phenomenal, right on point with all the things I missed about living in NC. The flavors, the care, attention to detail… Best hushpuppies, hand breaded pickles and okra, homemade sauces, picture-perfect ribs and deep-seed smoked flavors in all their meats. Such excellent food! The most tender and flavorful ribs we’ve ever had. The smoked chicken was awesome too with just the right spicing and almost melts in your mouth. Spicy, peppery bbq sauce that compliments the meat. Really nice people. Please give it a try – you’ll be back! Hint: The entrance and parking are in back.

This place is doing a soft opening at the moment. Very friendly staff was excellent with suggestions and what to try. We did take and both got grandma special ( I think it was called) which was 3 meats and two sides (brisket is a few dollars extra). We had ribs, sausage, pulled pork and brisket. Brisket was a little fatty, some like it that way, we don’t. Sauce is good but has a bit of a bite, had mac and cheese and corn. Mac and cheese was a little over cooked (mushy noodles) but I find that common with a lot of restaurant mac and cheese, corn was good but def has a pepper bite. We also ordered a side of hushpuppies that came with a side of a sweet Cinnamon butter, they were tasty and had a nice outer crunch. Two dinners, side of puppies and tip was $70

Come on over to Betty Jean’s Bar b que. The food is freshly prepared and served quickly. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. I had the “No Bun” roast pork on a bed of perfect coleslaw. The authentic North Carolina sauce was just the right combination of sweet/tangy but not too heavy on vinegar. We’re already planning our next visit.

First customers in the door today. My mom just flew in from North Carolina and we had to go here. I had the pulled pork, so yummy ! The best part for me though, HUSH PUPPIES !!! I wonder if they’re available by the dozen ?

The food here is unreal! The ribs are beyond delicious and fall off the bone tender. The pulled pork is perfection, as is the brisket and sausage. And the hush puppies? We’ll 100% be dreaming about them. The staff and owners are very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and super clean! Not to mention large portions that are reasonably priced. We can’t wait to come back!
