I’ve been going to Just A Taste since it opened in 2015, which is the same time my husband and I got together. We went on our first real “fancy” date here, and I’ve been hooked ever since. They treat everyone that enters the door like family. The farm to table food is second to none, and I find it hard to eat out anywhere else because my stomach just feel a GOOD when I eat here. There’s a meal selection for most dietary needs. The staff is always so knowledgeable and welcoming. The thing I love most about the cocktails is they aren’t your typical bar drinks, they’re all craft. Amazingly made. I could go on, but 20/10 stars, friends. Get a club membership! It’ll change your life.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. Their food portions and quality is just perfect. Service and ambience couldn’t be better. I am just in awe that we have such high quality restaurant in a small town of St James/Rolla. We tried the Vegan Risotto, Ricotta toast, Duck wings, chocolate torte, and they were all perfect. They claim everything is locally sourced and made from scratch, and I wouldn’t doubt it at all. Absolute quality.

My daughter and now son in law had there wedding reception here last night. It is beautiful inside and has a wonderful atmosphere. Staff was charismatic, friendly, fast and very professional at there job. Food was exceptional I had the braised beef it was packed with flavor I really really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and paired with local red wines was so good.

The menu is not huge, however there are nightly specials. The duck wings are a must try as well as the warm olives. The bolognese was amazing! Great service too. As you can tell from the photos we dug in immediately. My daughter had the vegan risotto and was very pleased with the dish.

If you enjoy cocktails and a great atmosphere, this place is definitely a must! We just went for drinks tonight before a reservation at another place and actually kind of regretted having to leave! Their passion for their crafted cocktails is evident and we’ll definitely be back to try their food!

We stopped by on a Friday evening. All members of the staff were courteous and knowledgeable. The facility was clean and tidy. The food was absolutely devine! I asked for a wine to compliment my meal I was given two choices based on my preferences, the one I went with was perfect. It balanced out my meal nicely. I highly recommend Just A Taste and I will definitely be back.

A hidden gem nestled in downtown St. James MO. The menu and bar items make it clear that elevated dinning and drinking are the goal in a quaint and comfortable environment while not getting to full of themselves. The bread board app included an olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce that while very tasty could have used a little “ something “ to make its flavor stand up to its appearance. I will say that my taste in olive oils runs pretty rich, the selection here had an excellent feel but was a little less fruity than I prefer. Maybe some roasted garlic?

I could go on and on about what a wonderful restaurant and experience Just a Taste is. The food is incredible, highlighting local ingredients and house-made pasta. I look forward to the new specials with every changing season. Recently I had the half roast chicken that was PERFECT. The drinks, as well as the server’s knowledge of great pairings, are delightful. Speaking of the service, everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. It’s been our go-to spot for at least 6 years, and I’ve never been disappointed. Highly recommend a visit, if you’re looking for a cozy, fun, tasty, and memorable experience!
