Love coming here when out in LI. The establishment is beyond professional and the culture of Japan is felt from the door to the cooking and even upon leaving.

The prices are a little bit high for the size portion. You get but the atmosphere is nice. They put on a great show weather cooking and the food always tastes really good. I would love. Them to give a full bowl of soup versus a 2/3 full bowl of soup.

They renovated it and looks great! Chefs so kind, funny and professional, the interaction with the little ones at the table and the chef was amazing! Food like always delicious! And I have to say they are honest people, the bill included the tip and I didn’t know it so I was giving more tip, they stop me when I was leaving the restaurant to make sure this what I wanted to do. Very thank you. Definitely recommend!

To be fair, we attended a party there. The food was okay par at best. The service again okay a little slow but again we were at a large party. They did however accommodate the host who kept adding gusts throughout the week and even on the day of the party. They do have a nice atmosphere. However I don’t recommend going when it’s raining. The rear and side entrances were closed which you had to walk through a large pool of water to get to the front entrance. I don’t imagine this is a normal thing. It was probably just flooded and it was heavy rains but I got home with wet feet and it sucked. I think I would prefer to sacrifice atmosphere in exchange for better food at another local spot in Islandia. I wouldn’t say I would recommend it to someone, however I wouldn’t tell someone not to go either.

Went here today for my mom’s birthday. We’ve been coming to gasho for well over 15 years now probably. For the first time we opted to get our food without the hibachi chef cooking it infront of us. We got our soup and salad and after a little while we got our food. I ordered the steak and scallops. Steak was tender, veggies were fine, scallops were definitely tasty and hot. Not a huge portion of seafood in my opinion for $26. Steak and veggies were also not that hot. Felt like room temp to me like they were sitting for a bit. Would have definitely hot and nicer to get it cooked infront of us, but my family wasn’t in the mood for all of the singing and yelling and other stuff.

The hibachi was good and the service seemed good until the check came. Went for LUNCH with a group of friends from work and expected the bill would be about $20-$22 per person only for the check to come out to $32 each. There was a $3.95 per person upcharge for fried rice/noodles because only white rice is included. The server made no mention of this when offering the options. There was a $2.00 upcharge for two people who the server also asked if they would prefer soup or salad with their meal, though their meals apparently did not include either. We asked for an additional sauce and were told that it would be $1 upcharge by the hibachi chef. We agreed and ordered 4. The waitress charged us for 5 @ $1.50 each. The check comes and she added auto gratuity for our 5 person party without mentioning so. The whole experience felt very sleazy and underhanded. Won’t be going back.

It was a nice night out. Thankfully we just got there before it got extremely busy. The food and show were good to eat and watch. I tried a sakie bomb for the first time ever that was interesting basically tasted like vodka to me. The food was delicious!!! I would definitely go back again but before 6pm i recommend, before it gets insanely busy.
