I have lived in the area for over 6 years and we used to visit Mazzio’s or pick up once a month. Our school also does fundraiser there. I have been there only once and picked up twice in the last year now. First one topping pizza prices jumped to $20 a pizza, which was bad enough until the drive through service got worse. Complained about the pizza price last time and now they have a 2 for 7.99 each deal, which is great. But prices on everything went up to make sure we are paying the same. Usually only stop to make a salad now, but that is almost $10.

First time I ate here. The pizza and salad buffet was a great deal. The food tasted great and tasted fresh. I normally don’t eat buffet, but friend highly recommended it. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean and bright inside. If I am in Highland again, I would love to visit again.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Never been here. Came in, stood there for 5 minutes. Not a single response. Picked our own seats. There menus have no prices. Then on top of it, sat there and waited. No waiter came by and said anything. Had to get up and leave. Will never come back here again.

-Add on February 2023-if I could give 0 stars I would, SO BAD that I couldn’t even finish more than 2 bites. I don’t know if they just have new staff that don’t know what they’re doing, or they simply do not care about their jobs. Did not get ONE thing right on a VERY simple order. Fries were not cooked, also. Horrible.

Lowkey pizza and salad spot. Usually pretty quiet, but very family friendly. Can get a bit crowded after local kids sporting events, but everything moves very quickly. We love the calzone rings with the tub of ranch in the middle. The salad bar is serviceable, but not worth it unless it’s lunch time. Mazzio’s used to have multiple locations in Illinois, including one in the Fairview Heights/Belleville area when I was a kid, so when I heard one still existed in Highland, we drove 45 minutes to eat here. It’s just the same as I remember and we’ve been back multiple times when the mood strikes.

I personally love Mazzio’s salad bar! One of my favorites. Even after moving to northern IL I still think theirs is one of the best. Always find a way to stop by anytime I’m back in town. The pizza also is pretty good too.
