Nice place, been there several times which says a lot for me. Have had a few items on the menu and one of the specials, all rating a 5 in my book. Only reason I gave the food a 4 was the fish and chips, while very tasty was a bit on the greasy side. It seemed like they hadn’t changed the oil in the deep fryer in a while.

What a wonderful experience. Pete the owner is a fantastic chef and a great restaurateur! Every thing was perfectly prepared and presented. The salad was fresh as was the burger. The wings are succulent and amazing. So worth the stop, and you can even go by train since he’s right across from the station. Must go for a nice local vibe and bite to eat, or to simply hang out for a drink at the bar. Friendly service also!

Excellent burgers and great beer selection. Huge portions and it always comes with a free macaroni. Liquor and mixed drinks are also available. The bar is almost always bustling, but I would consider it to be more of a cozy restaurant than a straight-up bar, though both are equally good. Plenty of seats and very rarely have I waited for a seat. A good place for friends to drop in and have a great meal and a good time, but not usually good for a dating spot due to the hustle and bustle (depending on the night). Live music is often performed here; its quality varies but more often than not adds to the mood. All in all, a great place to check out in Bellmore.

I personally didn’t rate the food because we didn’t have anything to eat. We had drinks and listened to Contra band. They were great. Our companions had some food which they enjoyed. One friend ordered the chili and didn’t like it so she sent it back and the waitress brought her something else. She got the chicken quesadillas and said that they were delicious.

Cozy bar and grille located on Petit Avenue in Bellmore, NY. This bar and grille, conveniently located next door to the Bellmore movie theater, never disappoints. Highly suggest the spinach salad.

Update. Looks like a complete change of staff, maybe ownership. The food was still outstanding, reception was lukewarm, otherwise service was pleasant. The live music was great in terms of the quality and mix, seriously talented musician but the volume was overkill, too much for the size of Third Rail. I tipped the musician and would have told him how I appreciated him and volume issue but didn’t want to interrupt but I can’t imagine that others didn’t feel the same.
