So it’s Saturday (6/24) night and the family’s hungry. Couldn’t decide where to go. Son had an idea to try this place out. He’s been here once before, said it’s a pretty cool spot to grab a bite. We’re up for trying different things. The place is pretty cool. Tucked in between the alleyway in downtown. The set up is inviting and gives out a great vibe (5/5). Service was pretty cool. You walk up to the ordering counter, place your order, get handed a number, and you find you own table. Don’t mind that one bit at all for a chill place to dine (5/5). We waited about 15 – 20 minutes or so before our pizzas came. We ordered three. While the pizza was good, I must admit it wasn’t exciting when compared to other pizza parlors serving gourmet pizzas. Portions are on the smaller size for the price. The pizza is made with minimal amount of crust (which is preferred by some) with lite amount of toppings. Taste wise, it’s not bad but not exciting. I would give it a 3/5. The atmosphere is great though and the staff friendly. Over all, I would give this place a 4/5 and a value to price ration of 4/5 also. It’s not a place that would top my list to go to for the food but certainly a place to go to socialize and grab a bite to eat. If you’re in the area with friends and looking for something not super fancy, gives out a good vibe where food taste/quality is not a deal breaker, then this is a place worth checking out.

I came walking over from the Farmer’s Market ( a little sign told me to come here for wood-fired pizza and beer ). I had to use google maps to find this little hidden gem in the alley since I’m not from Sacramento and am totally unfamiliar with the area, but I am so glad I stopped in. The guy behind the counter was super helpful ( I have a nut allergy and I am not a fan of tomato sauce on pizza… or onions… I KNOW! SORRY! ) He just made it so easy to decide what to order and I ended up ordering The Stanford w/o the pesto and red onions.

Definitely worth stopping by this pizza place if your in Sacramento. Family operated, Federalist Pizza is creative, fresh and made with love. Also a great outdoor eating space with games and friendly staff.

I was able to order by phone and carry out. The set up inside is pretty cool. The pizza was just okay. Seems like a nice place to dine in with friends and have the pizza fresh. A cool thing is the pizza box can be turned into a bib if you’re into that. Thin crusted cheese was okay they go heavy on the pepperoni which is a plus.

For some of the tastiest Za here in Sacramento, portions are smallish, so if you can eat you’ll need 1.5 za and a large beer choco taco is good but overpriced for what you get. Get yourself some other sweet treats around there instead

Pizza was okay, nothing spectacular or anything. Very pricey and you’ll deff need to order a large to yourself if you’re a man and don’t want to leave hungry. Overall it was okay.

Had a great time at Federalist during a free Bingo Wednesday evening. The pizza was tasty and they have a decent beer list. The staff was very pleasant. Seating is outside on picnic tables, but they were under a roof and there were ceiling fans running to keep the room cool.

Saw this advertised wood fire pizza and I knew we had to go. Ordered two pizzas between three of us and we devoured every bite. Service was fast, we got our pizza quick as well. Ordered the Stanford pizza with some beers to end our night.

Shockingly good pizza for a spot wedged into a shipping container in a back alley! One of the best you can get in Sacramento for sure – and the basic pepperoni is just perfect. It’s like if Masullo and Pizzasaurus Rex had a baby.
