We went here for date night. The oysters were probably the best we have ever had. The drinks were delicious. The menu was small and easy to select from. How ever the food did not match the ambiance, high class food deserves a little more romantic vibes.

I don’t know how I haven’t reviewed Lilia yet because it’s one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Portland. Everything Republica and Co. touches is perfection! If you’re able to get a spot at the chefs counter, I highly recommend it. It takes your experience to a whole new level watching the process and chatting with Chef. The beautiful, seasonal, local ingredients in each dish truly shine. With the ever changing menu, you are always in for a treat! My husband and I have seen Chef Juan at the farmers market with his family multiple times shopping for the restaurant. I’m always in awe that he takes the same ingredients that we all have access to and turns them into true masterpieces. Consider yourself lucky to be able to experience his talent!

We had such an amazing experience from initial greeting all the way to the last bite, sip, and goodbyes. First of all, the atmosphere is great. But, the real key is how special this team is, up and down and side to side. The food was so unique and incredible across the board, the wine pairings phenomenal (almost entirely Mexican, which was also exciting and educational for us), and the service spot on attentive, super friendly, and sincere. I have multiple food allergies, and the team (literally multiple servers and executive chef himself) took it very seriously and yet acted as though it was no burden at all. They wanted to make sure I had just as amazing of an experience as my husband, and they were successful in spades. What a thoughtful, talented, and warm team…and what a standout evening! Highly recommend visiting while it’s still easy to get in because once people figure it out, look out! 11 out of 10, 6 stars out of 5. We couldn’t possibly be any more enthusiastic about this place!

Excellent food. Unique dishes. Creative and talented chef. Can’t wait to come back and try more of his creations. The warm kalette salad is literally one of the best salads I’ve ever had in my life.

This place is special! The staff are so kind and well informed about each dish. The restaurant has lots of natural light. The food is unique in it’s influence and presentation. The portions are also hearty. Worth every penny! I also love that they take reservations.

What a gem of a place in the S. Waterfront neighborhood. Inspired seasonal food creations with an amazing flair and appreciation for food. The diver scallops, kale salad, beet salad and carnitas were my favorites. Even if you always only drink wine ..open your palate with a cocktail here. Very amusing concoctions that will make you smile with wonder. Well done Chef!

Wow…just wow. So in the smallest of nutshells, Lilia serves dishes representative of the Pacific Northwest, but through a Mexican culinary lens. Forgive my terminology, I’m not a good critic, but the concept alone is absolutely brilliant – and a cornerstone that was desperately missing from the Portland food scene. Lilia is a small intimate place that prides itself on exclusively sourcing local produce, so the menu changes seasonally (meaning there’s always something new to taste!). So speaking of the menu. It is a work of art. I went with a group of friends so we ordered everything on the menu and each and EVERY plate was cleaned. But more than just being absolutely delicious, each dish was so unique and creative and surprising! Truly a good time with good food and even better people. Cannot speak highly enough about the staff and every single person working at Lilia!! This place is a Portland gem.
