Having grown up in Brooklyn, the Brooklyn style pizza was without flavor or seasoning. The crust was thin and like cardboard. The pizza with olives and the meatballs side dish were no better.

Sal’s can seat about 8 to 10 people but mostly they do take out. My friend and I had 2 slices of meat lovers and a cheese steak hoagie. The slices had plenty of meat but were light on the cheese and the cheese steak was tender, juicy and delicious. I will definitely go back.

The place looks a little dumpy, but the Margherita Pizza rocks! I’m not sure if anything is homemade; it’s not an Italian pizzeria, but I do recommend the margherita pizza and the salad is pretty good too (no house dressings unfortunately). For dessert there’s only cannolis, no homemade desserts sadly.

Very good food, cannot eat the pizza though anymore because I heard a rumor whoever makes the sauce, I assume the owner, stirs the sauce with his hairy arm in a big pot. And the last pizza I ate from there had a couple body hairs on it. Sorry to say! but maybe if I left the review they would correct this.

I called to order on New Year’s Day, & asked if I could order by the slice. I was promptly yelled at and told to go somewhere else.

Absolute best pizza in the area and it is not even close! Every pizza place tries to get to this level and can’t quite get there. I have been getting Sal’s for 40 years and no pizza I have had in NJ, NY, FL, CA and everywhere in between can beat it!

i’m in here almost everyday of the week- every week during my lunch break. i know everyone here, been coming for 30 years. Great food, can’t beat their pizza and their bread. Their cold subs are better than any deli that’s even still around serving sandwiches.

I usually don’t review for pizza, but the food here is terrible. I’d hate for someone to go by these strangely good rates & be disappointed like my husband, 9yr old and I were. We were starving & in the area, so gave a try based on the good ratings. My hubby eats anything, same w/ our son but not this time. We Got broccoli poppers which were cooked well, just not much flavor so after 2 of the 15 is enough. Got garlic knots that looked good, but were chewy/rubber like, lacked flavor & the cup of sauce was gross. (Like Straight tomato paste & crushed tomato & no seasoning. sweet/tangy). I figured pie would be bad, But gave them the benefit of a doubt. 1 Sicilian pie hard chewy/rubbery crust ( yes was fresh I watched & 1 regular pie (super thin uncooked feel to it.)/both with 1/2 mushroom. Unfortunately It was so bad that after 2 slices from plain & 2 slices f5rom sicillian between the 3 of us, we decided to throw the other 11 slices in the garbage. I was so upset that I had to waste food like that, but it just wasn’t edible. The place is a super tiny room & yes as another customer said, the guys don’t wear masks or have it on the chin while making the pie or walking place to place never sanitizing hands. Seeing this from the window, i sent my hubby to grab the food. Not sure what all the hype is but better to keep looking. Sorry guys!
