Surprisingly good food! The burger was decent, tasty fries and super friendly service. Also loved the Italian soda with peach and cream It is a little pricy for what it is, but that’s normal for the area.

Great food, great service. My bison burger wasn’t as good this year as it was the year before but that’s one of the main reasons we came back. The waitress was better this time around though. As far as we know she’s in Peru right now. She shared her adventurous soul with us and I can’t get her off my mind. A sweet gal and you’ve lost a good server.

Don’t know why the lower rating but the burger I got was slightly overcooked but delicious. The Philly was good also. French fries were the smaller cut which I like for the crunchy little ones. Service was excellent and quick. Beer and liquor is served next door at the Pioneer bar which is accessible without going outside. Would definitely come back.

We ate here on our way to Yellowstone. The food and service were great. We would definitely stop here again on another trip. We loved the old buildings and the history of this place. I imagined what it would have been like back in the western days. Wow, just Wow.

Walked in on Sunday June 25th to eat breakfast. There were two other tables being served when we walked. One table already had food and the other one was waiting for food. We ordered our meals. After we ordered another couple came in and ordered food. As we were waiting for our food the other couples food had come out. I though it was weird that there food came out first but figured ours would be out shortly. A gentleman then walked in and sat down and ordered. I told my wife if he gets his breakfast before we did we were leaving. Well low and behold, here comes his french toast. I walked up the cashier and told her I wanted to pay for our coffee and apple juice and to forget about our breakfast. She assured us that it would be out right away. I was done waiting though and paid for what we got. No apology was made. We drove down the street to Nevada City and ate at the Star Cafe. The food was great and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the Star Cafe.

Great little place. We were there on a Saturday and they were short of help. One server was working all the tables. She just explained her predicament, worked each table in order, brought water pitchers to the tables and got the job done. She told us all the items they were out of (we were late for lunch) and it was still great! Considering the circumstances, it didn’t take that long to get our meal and the food was good.

Ordered bisquits and gravy with hash browns. Might be tourist priced but excellent breakfast and more than wife or I could eat. I had leftovers the next day and was a happy camper twice.
