This has to be one of the best restaurants in Tenafly. Salads are always on point. Schnitzel is the best I’ve ever had. Make sure to pay attention to the weekly specials because the chef always has a few tricks up his sleeve. Do not sleep on those apps. 🙂

Service was terrible, partly due to being understaffed. First, we ordered Frozen Mint Lemonade which was just standing in the coffee bar for over 20 minutes after we ordered it. Our water was not refilled and we received little to no attention at all. Second, the handle on the coffee cup was extremely small and ungraspable. Lastly, our food came out late and was nothing more than average, but at least they do provide unlimited toast. It was also very pricey. Overall, Service was bad and food was average, not worth the price.

My friend and I came in here for lunch. Eduardo, our host, showed us to an awesome seat in the window. The food was delicious and served right away. I must note that I ordered the broccoli cheddar quiche but Eduardo came out and told me that the broccoli didn’t look right and asked me if I wanted something else. I ordered the spinach and Swiss quiche instead. I also ordered the fries which were yummers!

I was not happy with my experience at this establishment, and neither was my family. I originally was not going to include some of the information in here to be nice, but the way this was handled was not acceptable. My family and I ate there; I ordered a steak sandwich with fries cooked medium rare. When the food came out, I was struggling to find the steak on my sandwich; there was barely any. For the amount of money charged for this, I want to see steak falling out of the sandwich generously. I was still hungry after this and had to go somewhere else. Aside from the lack of meat, the sandwich itself was small, more like snack size. C’mon feed me I am hungry is all I really need to say because it is what I was thinking for the brief 2 minutes it took for me to eat it. The sandwich was alright but bland. The one thing these guys did get right is the fries; they were nice and crispy however not enough of them. We took a meal home for my brother which ended up having some metal in it (sounds ridiculous but the owner already acknowledged). The manager or owner, whoever spoke to us, said to come into the restaurant anytime and he will leave an envelope containing our refund for that part of the meal. We went back and you guessed it, the owner or manager was not there and we were told to wait until Thursday. Let me explain something to restaurants in general. When you are asking someone to come back, the customer is already being inconvenienced in donating time, gas, and irritation to return. Some customers like us don’t come from not across the street, so it is not as simple as just coming back. Secondly, when we return and there is no refund as promised, that is not only a waste of time but an insult to our time. It is showing the customer that you don’t care, and are barely putting any thought in the serious mistake made with the food. Hopefully the refund is granted because as said, it was already promised. We understand the host couldn’t do anything about it at the moment, but let’s be courteous; if you have customers who are willing to come in due to an error made by the restaurant, make sure you have it all together so when the customer arrives there won’t be more arguing. Aside from a very small flavorless sandwich, I did have some fries that were not bad at all but that was not enough to redeem the experience. I would skip this place and maybe try one of the diners nearby unless you are intrigued by the small menu and would like to see for yourself.

Gets really busy for lunch. They have a good menu and the food is always good. I’ve been here brunch, lunch, and dinner and it’s always great. I’ve never had a bad experience. The waitstaff is really nice and friendly.

My dad and I love to have dinners here when we’re in town visiting a family friend. The polenta appetizer is a must-order and if you’re lucky enough to meet Eduardo there, he is the best. There’s also a wine store across the street where you can pick up a bottle that they will uncork and serve with your dinner. (Ask Tony at the wine shop for recommendations if he’s working.) Tenafly is such a cute town and the people have been so friendly to us midwesterners. Seriously, order the polenta!

This was my boyfriends favorite location for breakfast and this man loves his breakfast. The salad that came with the dish had a great lemon sauce and the rest of the food and coffee was delicious. I highly recommend. The setting is beautiful too. I definitely recommend if in the area.
