Family of four stopped in for dinner after going over the Google reviews (4.7 stars). The parking lot is small, but we were able to pull into a spot as someone was pulling out. There’s about 8 tables outdoors as you make yourself inside and we noticed a container with sidewalk chalk, which was immediately noticed by my 6 year old. The restaurant has an old diner feel to with memorabilia to go with it. We arrived around 6pm and the place was pretty busy. We were told the wait would be about 15-20 minutes but the hostess showed us to a table in less than 10. Two of us had the chicken bacon and goat cheese sandwich with a side of fries. One of the kids had a breakfast burrito and the other had french toast from the kids menu and that came with a side of fruit. Our server, Alma, was great. She made sure to check in on us often and made sure to refill our glasses with water when we were low. We all agreed that the food was just ok. We ordered a slice raspberry cheesecake and a slice of carrot cake to go and those were GREAT, I highly recommend them! Not from around here, but I’d explore other options if we were ever back in the area.

Fast, friendly, delicious, nutritious. Great vegan and vegetarian options. Plenty of choices for meat eaters. Nice atmosphere. Both, table, and counter seating. Nice outdoor seating available with umbrellas. Well managed. Long-time favorite of locals and visitors to the city. Delicious pastries.

Amazing food! The portobello mushroom sandwich was so good and the tofu scramble was fantastic. It took awhile to get are order taken but once they got around to us the server was very nice. And on a nice spring morning, sitting outside for breakfast on the patio was so nice.

The food is always tasty and hot! The atmosphere is so unique and retro. Our waitress was super kind and helpful as well. As a vegetarian, I was happy to see so many meatless options 🙂

Large portions and hometown cooking at its best. All breakfast entrees served with fried potatoes and eggs, even the Biscuits and Gravy. All 4 meals were served at the same time, perfectly prepared. Was just hoping for a plate of B&G, so was taken back slightly when only 1/3 the plate was what I was really intending on for breakfast. Wisconsin biscuits (at least here) are firmer than those of the deep south, which also have some buttery texture. Still enjoyed them, just different. 4.5 Stars here.

I had the heathen vegan shoplifter’s delight and it was very delicious and filling. It was better than any mushroom sandwich I’ve had before and they do tempeh right. They have a whole vegan menu with dessert (including pie) but I was too full to try dessert. The decor is pretty. Excellent service even when busy

Today was my first time at this award-winning, beloved neighborhood restaurant. I had the Bistro Burger which was absolutely delicious and the massive Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae which satisfied my sweet tooth The GM, Eric, was attentive and very personable. Server Alan was the bomb and took great care of me. I will most definitely be back, thank you for a great experience.
