Great place to stop for lunch. We got the turkey with caramelized onions and the roast beef sandwich. Both were delicious! Lunch with a view ☀️

Heard about this place in an article about Watkins Glen, cute little sandwich shop you would not even know it’s there. Slightly passed hector falls. Simple sandwich menu, able to accommodate. Able to upgrade from kettle chips to fries for $4: Sandwiches reasonable priced and sized. Locally sourced “Fizz” soda. No wait service. Order at the window, then pick up. Able to sit on deck or grass overlooking the lake. It’s a must try, especially after a day at the wineries near by

Great place and yummy sandwiches, even had great vegetarian options. Alcoholic drinks and iced coffee were all great too. Pictured is the special scallop Po boy. Delicious.

Delicious! Stopped on our way back from hiking the gorge trail at Robert H. Treman State Park near Ithaca (beautiful and well worth it!) and thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches. We got the vege panini and turkey panini. Best part was the view of Lake Seneca and the atmosphere of the laid back restaurant. Thank you!

I visited here on a rainy day in October 2022. Despite the chilly weather, the deck was warm, the service was welcoming and the dishes hit the spot. So delicious! You must come visit for lunch.

Hesitant to leave a review and have this place get too popular, but The Elf in the Oak is terrific. Sit outside on a covered deck overlooking beautiful greenery and lake Seneca, while eating one of their outstanding fresh-made paninis. Can’t imagine anything better exists in the area, don’t miss this place!

I was really excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately, the girl at the order window was so hateful when I tried to gently explain my gluten allergy and figure out what my options were. We travel a lot and are very easy going, but I have never been made to feel like such a burden before. I’m sure the food is great and it’s a lovely atmosphere, but I felt very unwelcome so we ultimately went somewhere else. I would like to note that my allergy is skin related and not autoimmune, so if I had been treated a little better and had the chance to explain better, I probably would have gotten to try something I enjoyed. I hope the service improves for the sake of other people traveling through in the future.

Best food with a laid back atmosphere. Their sandwiches are phenomenal! Plus, they have beer, cocktails and allow dogs. Wish we lived near by. Highly recommend. The open air covered patio is great, or you can sit at the tables in the grass. If you are in the area /, don’t miss a great sandwich. We had the smoked Turkey panini and the roasted pork loin sandwich.

This place deserves a 10/5!! Always the absolute most incredible sandwiches! We first visited this place 5 years ago on our honeymoon and it remains a must stop over the years. It has never disappointed. Cody is the nicest guy and had given us some great recommendations for other places to check out that were spot on! So great to see the growth of this place over the years; thanks for staying awesome 🙂
