I’m staying at the nearby Marriott and was looking for a place within walking distance. Given the prevalence of chain restaurants nearby, I was afraid I might end up in the hotel restaurant, but saw this on Google Maps. I liked that it was local but was kind of resigned to eating at a knock-off of the big burrito chains. La Luz put those chains to shame! They had great food and great service! I may have eaten the best burrito I have ever eaten (Atomic Seafood Burrito). The salsa bar was fantastic, and I am going to dream about the creamy green, but very spicy salsa for days to come. Highly recommend.

I’m a vegetarian and love their vegetarian burrito options. If you get a burrito with “grilled veggies” it will include things like carrots, squash, and broccoli in addition to onions and peppers. Another reviewer complained about that, but I actually like it – it’s nice to get a lot of veggies in a meal. If you don’t want the non-traditional burrito veggies though, there are other good vegetarian options (garden burrito, chile relleno burrito, fajitas burrito and ask for beans as the protein, etc.). Also, their tacos are very generous portions and I am very full after just 2.

I was excited to order from here so I did a door dash order. I got a gourmet burrito with veggies instead of meat. I don’t expect veggie burritos to be amazing but this really tanked expectations. I figured I’d get bell peppers and onions as the veggies. Nope. Broccoli, carrots, zucchini and squash. Absolutely zero flavor. And it doesn’t detail what veggies you’re going to get nor any allergen info. I’m not allergic to foods but I know several people allergic to squash. No one is going to let you know they’re allergic to squash when they order a burrito because no one would expect that in a burrito. That’s so dangerous and honestly the veggies in here shouldn’t be in a burrito at all. It’s like you bought a frozen bag of mixed veggies and rolled it up into a burrito. What a waste of money. This is by far the worst burrito I have ever had.

Super fresh Mexican food. I knew because they had about 20 tomatoes roasting on the grill when we came in! Large helpings and tastes so good! The breakfast burritos were huge and the scrambled eggs were perfect. The service was also very good and friendly….glad to see you! The house margarita was also very good and comes in a pint glass. This was my first trip and won’t be my last!

I love LaLuz. I had a burrito bowl with black beans. It was tasty and filling and so satisfying. Not too much – just right. Left smiling and happy. Always a relaxed place to dine. Reminds me of places near the beach in Southern California. Nice staff. Great cooks. No stress.

I love this place! Their food tastes very authentic and flavorful. They have this amazing salsa bar that is all you can eat if you dine in! The medium salsa verde is soooooo good. I go here solely for the salsa sometimes. They have really good prices and some of the best draft beer happy hour deals in town! I’ve seen some people complaining about the wait time but everything is prepared to order so I prefer it this way because it’s fresh! I definitely recommend eating here. Much much better than the Rio Grande chain that everyone goes to downtown.
