We stopped in at the half way point of our 40 mile bike. We grabbed 2 beers and the nacho plate. It was really basic ground beef without seasoning and out of the package/jar toppings. Did it fit the bill- sure. Would I come again? Nope.

We arrived around 6:15 pm. Waited patiently for the bartender, who was busy. 45 minutes later we had to ask for menus (they weren’t proactively offered). 15 minutes later we had to ask for someone to take our order. We were finally told it was going to be 60-90 minutes for our food. I understand and appreciate staff shortages, but why not tell us immediately when we arrived? There was only 2 of us, and we knew there was a large (15+) wedding party coming in, because we were meeting them after dinner. We left without ordering food or another drink. Your loss.

Stopped here one evening with a group of people. I really didn’t want to eat typical greasy “sports bar” food. While looking over the menu, I noticed that it says it gets “fresh fish daily” so, I ordered the whitefish dinner. While I wasn’t expecting much, I can honestly say that it was probably one of the best fish dinners I’ve had in a while. I’ve been to the UP of Michigan and had some really good fresh caught that day whitefish from Lake Superior and this was just as good.

Tried this restaurant 3 times this summer. First of all each time it took forever to get drinks, even water. We came at a busy time and now end of season and it didn’t make a difference. Everyone in our party, each time we came, had something wrong with their food orders, food was wrong, missing a key ingredients, cooked wrong or badly, food was not brought out together and half the group was finished before others even got their food or food was brought out with no silverware. Mediocre food at best, not worth the time to eat here with all the great restaurants in Door County. We tried, we came back 3 times just to make sure the first poor service and poor food quality was a flook, it wasn’t! Each time was the same bad service, mediocre overpriced food. Beautiful place though, great marina its a shame the restaurant/bar is such a disappointment.

Welcome back Gilmo’s!!! We’ve been local residents for a very long time, have tried Gilmo’s over the years, never a great experience. Tonight we tried the broasted chicken carry-out. WOW, amazing broasted chicken, fresh chicken, super crispy, tender as ever! The mashed potatoes were real, mashed baby reds, deliciously buttery. Good coleslaw, also ordered onion rings, that stayed crispy during the short ride back to the cabin and a beautiful fresh salad.. We know what we will be dining on in the coming Thursdays. So glad this really neat place is serving great food!!!
