Great BBQ and summer Saturday by the river. Went to Steamboat Springs on a Saturday in July. The farmer’s market was in full swing. We actually found a great parking spot on Main St very close to Yampa River Icehouse. We totally were expecting a loooong wait. It was around noon. We went in and saw the hostess. She offered us space on the upstairs deck if we wanted, which was shaded, and we checked it out, but there were no tables available, only bar style seating along the rail. We decided to put our names on the list for a patio table and grab a drink at the bar while we waited. The bartender waited on us promptly. I ordered a jalapeno margarita, and the hubby had a beer from the local brewery (Storm Peak). By the time we had finished our beverages, our table was ready. We got a table not riverside (I included a picture) but with a river view (totally cool because I can’t picture eating BBQ in an Adirondack Chair and a low table). I think the riverside seating is great for enjoying beverages and maybe an appetizer. The place was slammed, but the servers hustled. They made sure they kept up with their tables. My husband and I got the chicken wing appetizer. The wings are smoked and then fried. They had such good flavor, were moist, and had a great crunch. We decided to share the combo platter. You get to pick 2 meats and a side. We ordered 3 extra sides. So our combo consisted of brisket and the ribs, mac n cheese, handcut fries, coleslaw, and cornbread. The brisket had a great smoke ring and was just tough enough to chew, but it didn’t just fall apart either. The ribs were cooked similarly, where it was enjoyable to pull the meat off the bone. Alone both had great flavor. I tried the House BBQ Sauce. For me, it was a little too vinegary. I prefer sweet & spicy. My husband loves coleslaw and devoured it. So I guess it was good 😉 The mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful, and the cornbread was super moist and tasty. We look forward to going back and spending another Saturday by the Yampa.

Went here for food for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. We just got the nachos to share but they were delicious and so much pulled pork for the serving (in the best way). They do great cocktails too. My husband loves the smoked old fashioned. Also, the views of the river out back are unparalleled.

Our table had ribs (excellent rubbed/smoked), pulled pork (very good), brisket (excellent, tender), and chicken (pretty good, slightly dry). Very good sauces. The thing that was much better here than most BBQ places was the side dishes… Brussels, salad, and Mac and cheese were great. Fun atmosphere, good margaritas. Definitely recommend.

Great location, wonderful atmosphere & decor inside & out. Spectacular views from the rooftop deck. I’m from Austin, so I’m picky about BBQ. Brisket looks really good, but just a bit dry. The rest of the food is excellent.

Very nice update to this space. The back lawn is inviting and comfortable. The service was good being the first week opened. Just a few small hiccups to be expected. The food was delicious, as well

Grabbed lunch here and was very impressed with these dry rubbed wings! Our sever was super kind and offered me the opportunity to try some of their homemade BBQ sauces. I was in heaven 🙂 we also tried their smoked ckn soup of the day and the kids Mac and cheese with fries!! The GM stopped over twice to chat to make sure we were happy. Oh yeah, the was ice cold and crisp Thanks for the great service and hospitality!

Was in the area for a work trip and looking for good BBQ. Decided to give this place a try based on the reviews I saw and man, am I glad I did. Brisket is my go to and this didn’t disappoint AT ALL! The perfect blend of fat and meat, ample portions and as flavorful as I’ve ever had. I tried a couple of the sauces also, even though the brisket was delicious on its own, and they were also great. Wish they had a place like this where I’m from. Great atmosphere also. Would definitely come back if I visit the area again.

Both my self and my husband were here in steamboat for the gravel race on august 20. At the end of his 100 miles race we decided to go have a bite close by the venue. We asked the hostess if we could bring my husband’s very expensive bike back in the garden patio as he did not have a locker. The hostess was very kind and let us going in by the back door with the bike. The moment we parked the bike inside and away from other customer traffic and sat down at the table, this lady named “Nici Horn” came after us like a bat out of hell yelling that she was the manager and no bikes were allowed on the property. We tried to say that we were greeted in by the very kind hostess but she kept yelling at us that she was the manager and we needed to leave, including the bike. We have been in many places in and out the States during our long lives but rarely been addressed so rudely and without respect. A restaurant should never been a place where you should find disrespect and rudeness as valuable customer. Horrible experience. We will never go back to this place nor recommend it to someone else, either.
